Guest womble_sanfran Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I am on the stock ROM and my phone has gone laggy, it seems that the Android System is taking up at least 80% CPU. How can I work out which part of Android System is the culprit. I have tried terminal commands like ps and top and they just say it is the android system but I want to know which part of it! I had this same issue a few months back and it turned out I had replied to a text which came from an invalid number and my phone was constantly trying to send it and failing, when I deleted the text the phone started running quickly again. And yes I have tried turning it off and on again! :D Thanks

Guest Stevvie Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 i had a similar thing where android system was making the phone laggy. I managed to track mine down to media service under the android system and then finally found out that if I had any AAC PLUS MP4 files on my memory card the phone became laggy, even if I NEVER tried to play them. I re-encoded these to AAC and all was fine. Have you tried unmounting your SD card to see if that helps ?

Did you use an app to tell you that? I will try the unmounting trick.

Guest womble_sanfran Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 I used system panel from the market The phone appears to have fixed itself now, I still have no idea what caused it.thanks for the system panel tip, it seems like a great app.
Guest darren_ Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 It may be the same problem others have had. Try:- http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...e/#entry1568329
Guest womble_sanfran Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 This has happened to me again. I have tried 'top' and it says that system is taking all the CPU, I tried covering the light sensor and it didnt help, I tried numerous reboots, I tried dismounting my SD card. Also system panel just says it is 'system' using the CPU so it doesnt help much at all. Is there anyway to find out which part of system is using the CPU?
