Guest mikerj Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 After rooting my phone and installing the Japanese Jellyfish image, I suffered from the same unresponsive touch screen as numerous other people. I messed around for ages rebooting, reflashing etc and until finally it started working...until I powered the phone down whereupon it stopped again. In desperation I did a TPT with the B10 image that hecatae very kindly provided to get the phone as close to standard as possible. Whilst the TPT was applied ok, the touch screen still didn't work. Running out of things to try I backed up the SD card and reformatted it on my PC, fired up my phone and the touch screen started working! I've power cycled the phone about 10 times since then and it's still working fine. Going to try a custom ROM again later, but this might be worth a try if you are in the same situation I was.

When you say you backed up the SD card, do you mean you copied the contents to your PC or were you using some utility? Also, when you formated the SD card, did you take it out of your phone and use a card reader to do it, or did you connect your phone to the PC via cable and mount the SD Card and format it that way? I have the same problem, although I am running Sabastian. It's working OK but I know if I power off the phone the touchscreen will be unresponsive ... so I have been keeping it on. I was going to pull the battery to see if it was the power down process which was causing the issue, and intended to backup my phone using clockwork as it was powering up ... in the hope that I would get a good image and not have to reload everything again. At the moment, I have held back from this (did not want to have to go through all the messing about to tget it working again if it did not work), in the hope that someone would find a fix worth trying ... and I think I will give this a go.
