Live TV buffering puzzle

Sorry if this seems 'off-topic' but I'm trying to figure out how this happened. I was watching Al Jazeera 'Live' English news channel yesterday afternoon and after a few minutes I used the Back button and then browsed to this forum and forgot about it and put the Vega into standby and went off to do other things. Today nearly 24 hours later I log onto the Vega click on the Al Jazeera shortcut I set-up on my Home screen and up pops the same AJ news article I had been watching the day before where I left it !!

At first I thought it must have been buffering the live content on the Vega somewhere and I was worried it could fill up my precious space very quickly but it had not done that so can only assume the broadcaster stores its video streams and when you connect again it restarts where you left off rather like a PVR machine would. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this themselves as the BBC News site doesn't seem to do this?? :D
