My battery only last about 10 hrs. so i charge about 2x a day.

i have a liquid a1 running t&l .08,

wifi, gps, bluetooth and proximity sensor are all turned off

brightness set to lowest

network set to automatic

picasa folders synced to gallery

yahoo messenger running on my background

when i check bat status, it show that cell radio uses +/-45% phone idle +/-45% the rest are small percentages only

i use a little bit of surfing and playing music.

is this normal?or is it time to get a new battery? maybe the higher capacity ones?

thanks

you can turn off data connection when you dont need it, it will save battery.

Four hours of music is quite a lot. Try not to use it for one day, but leave 3G, sync, etc enabled.

1 hour of music = 8%

1 hour standby <= 1%

on mine.

I used to use JuiceDefender on Froyo, but Gingerbread isn't supported so I switched to Green Power. It's the same but lighter (on functionality) but supports Gingerbread and saves you TONS of battery as well. Just set it to switch on network for a couple of minutes every 30 minutes and you won't miss a mail.

You can install Spare Parts from market - they show battery usage. Maybe you have sensors issue.

I had also battery problems, checked the log, and found that a bad widget is continously pushing log lines into it, and the google maps latitude is also working all the time.

So I was logged into the latitude but was set to invisible inside the google maps, and it was draining the battery by continously sending information.

Your battery usage is in line with what I can at best with any rom. Surfing takes a lot of battery. 4 hours of music also.

Are you surfing on 3g or on wifi?

Surfing on 3g uses a lot of battery, and even more if network coverage is low..

good to know that what im experiencing is quite normal

i tried juice defender before but i find that it slows my fone down. trying green power now but it still slows it down a bit. and keeps on restarting my launcher pro even if i check the keep in memory setting.

im surfing on 3g and i usually get low signal from my network provider..

im gona try spare parts out to see whch other widgets or apps is eating my batt.

thanks again

btw, i think im also logged in google lattitude so i guess thats whats eating my battery too.

it sucks that we have all these features that you cant really use because it eats a lot of battery like latitude, yahoo messenger, some nice widgets etc.

aside from the fact that a1 has only 256 ram and there are lot of things that you can do with just this amount of ram.

If you don't have stable and good 3G/HSPA reception (3G or letter H), then turn it off, use 2G only and Opera Mini (not mobile) to speed up the web. Opera Mini is not a full-featured web browser, but it compresses web pages upto 90%. So it can be a good solution for browsing news websites, forums, etc.

To improve the battery life I set the Es Task Manager to autokill if screen is off, and set the SetCPU to decrease the clock to 245MHz when the screen is off.

Also found that installed but not used apps, widgets are periodically rising up, I can see them in the task manager or writing into the log.
