[help]how to convert ext4 to ext2

I was using link2sd on my liquid and had some apps linked to my ext2 partition

then playd around with malez recovery and converted ext2 to ext3 then to ext4 (was trying to see if it apps would run faster)

but when i restarted all my apps that were linked to ext2 were gone.

went back to malez recovery and cudnt find any option to convert back to ext2. so i tried ext2 to ext3 option and it was successful. then tried ext3 to ext2 but it give me an error that says 'run ext3toext2 via console' which i have no idea what it means.

anyway to solve my problem?

does upgrading the ext partition erase the contents of it?
