Help with ext part

Hello. I'm noob here. I want to install custom ROM. Need to create ext partition on my SD card or no ? My SD card is 4Gb formated on FAT or FAT32 dont remmember. And what is ext 2, ext3 and ext4 ? :D

ext partition is only to use the a2sd (apps to SD), but not the regular froyo way. This is an option in some ROM. But you can install a ROM without creating any part on SD before. Just do it if you want to use it. Keep in mind that parting sd from the liquid will erase all your datas on the SD.

I red somewhere: "if you don't know the difference between ext2, 3 and 4, just use ext2".

Ok one more question. I've installed 2.2 Froyo official rom, then updated to LRC 2.0 patch and WiFi not working. I try to connect but there is message "connecting" ant then "disconected" or problems with IP :D wth ?
