Unlock Japanese Libero 003Z query

I've just purchased a new unused Libero 003Z on auction without a SIM and want to use it with a data only SIM

from another carrier. I've read the unlocking instructions on a couple of sites but have read that It doesn't prompt

for an unlock code when you insert a different carrier's SIM and "Turn on USB debugging" doesn't seem to be a

menu option UNLESS there is a Softbank SIM in the phone so it's not easy to replace the phone.apk to unlock the

thing!

Does anyone know of a workaround for this or would it be easier to find a store that does unlocking?

OK. False alarm, phone arrived today and "Enable USB Debugging" IS a menu option, even without a SIM. Don't

know why the other person I read about had a problem.

If I have time tomorrow will root it but been toying with it on my home WiFi today!
