LCD Crack (gorilla glass is perfect)

So back in October I had my internal LCD crack and Dell replaced it no questions asked. Last night I took it out of my pocket and the same thing has happened. There is no physical damage to the phone so I called Dell up looking to get it replaced again under warranty.

They are telling me this time that it is damaged and there for out of warranty and it will be $250 or whatever to fix it. Asked for a supervisor and got the same thing. Asked for his supervisor and he said he would call me back.

Got the call back and was told the same thing, its damaged so it’s out of warranty. I stressed it wasn’t damaged and there was nothing physically wrong externally on the phone. He again said it’s damaged and out of warranty.

So I decided to bring up the fact they replaced it in October of last year for the exact same reason and the supervisor stated that was a onetime allowance because they didn’t have the repair option. I argued for a fee more minutes and he still refused.

So long story short, do i call back or is it on file now and I am out of luck?

Anyone had this happen or recently got theirs replaced under warranty?

Any ideas how I should approach it next?

Thanks,

Jason

Well $250 is too much, @bhull521 : can you please PM the link for the LCD, I am under the same predicament as the OP. I need to replace the LCD

If I order this, I will be able to assemble it, right. I mean it is not that tough is it ?

The only phone i have disassembled before my streak is an iphone. I am a noob when it comes to taking these things apart. I took my time when i took mine apart for the first time. Its actually very easy. Just have to be gentle when you pry. The total install time for the LCD was about 45 minutes. Its a little nerve racking your first time.

How did you separate the glass from the LCD? I thought they were glued and near impossible to get apart?

They are... that's why they are sold as one unit... and why they are expensive.
