Hi,

I'm having some problems with battery life on my Orange San Francisco/ZTE Blade.

I am running Japanese Jellyfish RLS9.

I charge the phone to 100% before I sleep, then when I wake up around 9hrs later, the battery has dropped to around 73%

WiFi is off & the majority off apps are killed using Advanced Task Manager. The only things running are Market, Google Search, & Voice Search.

This can't be normal.

I would expect maybe a 10% drop in that time, not over 25% while doing nothing.

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks.

I would get only afew % reduction in that time. Sounds like you have something taking to battery life from you.

I would suggest getting something to monitor the phones battery use and then you will find out the cause.

For anyone who wants more battery life then try this:-

Charge battery to 100%

Restart phone

Charge phone for another 2 hours

This method increases my battery life greatly.

You shouldn't be losing that much overnight, thinking runaway process or something polling with a data connection?

Also bear in mind that once charged, the phone will allow itself to discharge to 90% then start charging again to prolong the life of the battery (They don't like to be held at 100% for prolonged periods of time). When this process is going on it'll still say 100%, even if it's not - this can be why battery life drops to 90% so rapidly in the morning.

A quick trick for getting those extra few minutes is to unplug your phone when you wake up, wait 5 seconds then plug it in again before getting up. By the time you leave it should be at 100% (for real!)
