Guest 8200 Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 Hi guys, after having many problems with CyanogenMod 7 RC4 (no fm radio, screen freezes during call and wifi hotspot only working for a few seconds) I wiped all data/cache and installed Swedish_Spring_RLS4b yesterday. My first impressions are very good but the benchmark result of quadrant standard is very bad: 423, 442, 445 points. With other ROMs the result were between 750 and 850. What is faulty with the default installation of Swedish Spring RLS4b? (I don't like overclocking and therefore never used it) Regards, Arthur

Swedish Spring has stagefright disabled (as it is broken in ZTE's 2.2). There are audio/video encoding/decoding benchmarks in Quadrant and those suffer when stagefright is disabled so the score goes down. So performance is not worse, it just looks that way. Compare with Linpack, Neocore and Nenamark and you'll get a better comparison. However, with the AHB overclocked kernel and some overclocking you can reach near or above 600 i Quadrant. AHB gives around 10% extra and overclocking adds the rest.
Guest DannyDanny Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 How would you compare SS rsl4 with Paul's Madaco 12? They are both designed for stable purpose?

So every ZTE with 2.2 has a poorer audio/video performance because of stagefright malfunctioning. But with "768r12-update-modacocustomrom-blade-kitchen-unsigned" which is also android 2.2 I did get over 800 points in quadrant. By the way, the problem with this ROM was the QWERTY keyboard - I need a QWERTZ (german) keyboard-layout ;-)
