I laughed when it was a £100 option on the ipad, thinking it was a classic example of what happens when Apple has you by the S&C's.

But it seems it's the going rate on an Android tab as well.

Why?

The electronics can't cost more than a couple of quid.

Enormous license fee to somone?

Pretty much all of them also put the GPS capability in when they add 3G. Although the chips won't cost much, it is what the market will stand in perceived value-add.

Viewsonic have pushed up the 10S by £110 from £250 to £360 when 3G and GPS are added.

The same reason razor heads sell for £18 for 8... but only cost less than 3p a head to make... cos some mug will buy them.

Wonder how that's working out for them.

It's not what I'll stand anyway.

A lot of the better 3G/GPS boards cost £50-70 wholesale, yes you can get cheap ones but you don't usually find those built in to expensive electronics it tends to be the higher end more capable and longer lasting boards.
