Here is a picture of what you see when you remove the ZTE label from the battery.

It seems there is some metal foil exposed on both sides of the battery and also some kind of metal/plastic part on the label too.

I removed this to make the back cover fit flush, but I don't know anything about battery technology and wonder if there will be problems from removing this? Any ideas?

Looks like it could possibly be there to help dissipate heat, youll soon know if it starts overheating

Do not put the bare battery into phone!!!

It is dangerous.

The whole surface of the battery is connected to ground so "accident" can easily happen.

i wonder if it improves signal/wifi reception at all? (if the phone still works ) :D

Why did you do that?

Was it because the battery was "swollen"?

It would be interesting to see the same inside of those batteries sold on ebay.

i'm guessing the blade was designed to house just the battery and somebody forgot that the label added some width to it. with the label on, the battery cover doesn't fit properly causing one of the corners to pop-up and squeak when the back button is pressed.

works fine without the label, but i'm just worried in case the thing explodes by shorting or something...
