I want too change ROMs on my blade from FLB too the latest Cyanogen version, but whenever i've changed rom before i've lost all contacts and applications etc. Firstly im wondering if i restore back too my FLB backup will i get all contacts back.

Secondly whats the best method to re-install everything after a new ROM is installed.

It it was a nandroid backup it will restore everything :D

Including any missed call notifications B)

Google should auto sync and contacts.. Android 2.3 will auto sync settings and apps too

There are pleanty of apps to backup and restore different things but they all have their issues. Sometimes best to just resetup your phone manually

Full backup with Clockwork. I did notice in the clockwork restore settings i can restore individual parts is this advised? If so which parts would be worth restoring.I would want to use this too restore apps etc because most of my apps are on my sd card

Nandroid backup and restore in Clockwork will save/restore the entire ROM, settings and data. You can't just restore settings to a new ROM with this method. Titanium Backup is good for restoring any apps (and their data) that you have installed yourself. As the previous poster has said you can move contacts between ROMs by syncing with your Gmail account (settings->accounts & sync and tick both boxes [background data and auto-sync]), rather than using Titanium Backup. It is safest not to try to restore any other system settings on a new ROM with Titanium Backup as this can cause the new ROM to not work properly or even at all. Although, if you do have problems after restoring something you can always boot into recovery and wipe data/cache and start the ROM configuration task again.
