I am really getting frustrated here, both my USB hub and card reader 2.0 are not being recognized by my Vega I am going on holiday in a few days and ntill now not able to view my pics of my Canon camera and camcorder.

Please help with the right advise and stick to the topic.

I have tried a different Micro SD card as well but then the Vega tells me its damaged while its formated in FAT 32. :D

Thank you

I have just plugged in a memory stick and it does read the stick???? i am very confused now

Not a very polite way to ask a question is it? Have you managed to get any USB peripheral working on the Vega yet? What ROM/Kernel version have you got installed? :D

See by your edit (crossed in wires) you have got something working does this resolve your issue?

I have the R8 and 2.6.32.9_MCK_r2_Host

Now I have plugged in the card reader with a card but when you go into file manager you cant see it, Sorry if I have offended you but it frustrates me when people move away in a topic to some thing different. I am not a computer whizz so I am struggling. USB peripheral???

Which directory are you looking for the USB device in? It should be in /mnt/usb/system_usb/

When I plug in the memory stick it reads the pic on the stick, when I connect the USB hub and connect the stick it also reads the card but when i connect the card reader to the Vega of via the USB hub it doesnt even shows the extra card on the file manager

. what is the way forward viewing photo and video either direct or indirect on the Vega

Cheers

Hi Trevor this is empty

Is it a multi-card reader (ie SD, MMC, CF, XD)? I couldn't get a generic multi-card reader to work in mine either, whereas a USB memory stick was fine.

I don't have a single-card reader to test, but I'd guess the Vega doesn't like it when a card reader presents itself as several empty drives (like in My Computer when you connect the card reader to a PC).

Not sure if this helps, I use a standard SD card on my PS3, using a USB dongle, my vega couldn't see anything on the card either, so I assume the Vega needs to see the card directly not thru a dongle? Going to try a straight USB stick with a film on it this weekend.

Hmmm well when you put a USB memory stick in that's where you will find the content but as the others have mentioned it is probably down to the Vega not liking the dongle you are using for some reason. I guess as Android develops there will be more drivers written so eventually it may work but for now it looks like sticks are the way forward. :D

Ok thanks guys, i think i will try to transfer my video's and pics to a memory stick and take it from there on my holiday as that will be the way forward for now.

Trevor do you know a trick to read pics and video direct from the cam as it doesn't detect the cam via USB when connected

Cheers
