Guest michaelviper Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I really want to purchase an AMOLED Zte blade as some people claim that this has a better quality screen first is this true? and second i've looked around and i can't find anywhere or anyone who is selling a AMOLED blade any suggestions? Fanks in Advance :D
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 can't help you on where to get one. but the OLED screens are only marginally better, so don't let this put you off getting a blade. Yes i would buy OLED over TFT if i had the choice but not if i had to pay more to get the it. i'm sure if you search ebay, after a while one will turn up but it will be probs 20 quid more

The tft gets shown up in the black menu's (system) and in video playing (youtube). but saying that, its not a deal breaker for me, its still a great phone at a great price
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 I think the difference between OLED and TFT is a bit exaggerated. OLEDS go brighter and have nicer colours. TFT are quite as bright, and the colours are a bit duller, but its not BAD. Just remember - OLED screens suffer from burn in. Makes me wish I had TFT :D

Makes me wish I had TFT B) But TFT / LCD screens suffer from stuck (dead) pixels :D I don't own a single LCD screen without 1/2 really annoying dead pixels (My old Gameboys, DS, PSP, TV, Monitor, Phones) This is my first crystal clear screen ;) But you will only ever be disappointed with an LCD / TFT screen if you compare it side-by-side to an OLED screen Just don't do it, even my friend got depressed when I compared my blade to his iPhone 4s retina display :D Summery: You won't tell the difference between the two unless you compare them side by side.. Just don't do it! Edited April 7, 2011 by Azurren

I would be happy with the TFT, OLED IS slightly better but not worth pay any extra for

I've heard they're meant to be more responsive, but i find them the same. Yes i would pay more for OLED, and i did, about £40 more for it than i did for the TFT version (both off ebay) (i had the oled first) Edited April 7, 2011 by n1ck75

Fanks in Advance :D France Bouygues Telecom has OLED ZTE Blade. I have buyed one two weeks ago, for 129,90€.
Guest HMZX Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 i would say that ebay is your friend: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...-All-Categories

The TFT is indeed sharper - this is noticable with text. They are both just as responsive. Even the lighest of a touch registers on both. Source: Have one of each infront of me right now.
Guest Roph Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 (edited) The OLED display in the blade uses the controversial pentile display method, one which sacrifices resolution / sharpness. While an LCD blade really does have 480x800 pixels, each with 3 subpixels, the OLED screen does not. Here's a nice article that explains various issues with pentile displays: http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2010/0...r-and-hacks.ars Hold a "480x800" pentile OLED screen (like on the blade) next to a Super AMOLED plus 480x800 screen (such as on the galaxy S II) and you'll instantly notice what's wrong with pentile. Guest Stevvie Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 We have 2 oled and 1 TFT and the 2 oleds are MUCH brighter and colourful than the TFT screen. Although the TFT screen seems easier to read on webpages, the oled is better in pictures/games/video's. I have just sent my own oled Blade off to get fixed (blue tint on top half of the screen when cold) they told me they will fix it rather than replace it, which I was happy about.
Guest michaelviper Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 fanks everyone, i had a tft blade but the screen broke so i just wanted to try a OLED blade to see if it was beta or worse :D
Guest ronc2000 Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 France Bouygues Telecom has OLED ZTE Blade. I have buyed one two weeks ago, for 129,90€. Are you sure they are OLED, and not a misprint by France Bouygues Telecom?
Guest DannyDanny Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) Comaprison video for zte blade oled vs tft Personal preference I guess Edited April 8, 2011 by DannyDanny
Guest labramov Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Are you sure they are OLED, and not a misprint by France Bouygues Telecom? My friend also bought for me OLED blade at Bouygues Telecom in France two weeks ago :D
Guest thehobbit78 Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Are you sure they are OLED, and not a misprint by France Bouygues Telecom? Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. Take a magnify glass, and take a look at the screen. If the pixels are in a dot-matrix, then is a TFT. If they are arranged in a sort of honeycomb, then is a OLED. From what I've read from the net...
