Guest Paul Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Mine's here, don't have much time to play until next week! :-( But... - psneuter / ratc don't work - turn off then power on with volume up held to get to nvflash mode - power on with volume down then press volume up when prompted to enter recovery... or leave untouched to wipe the device (with confirmation prompt) - hold down power for 4/5 seconds to turn off from recovery - bummer: it's odexed :D - weird, there's an on device build of the adb CLIENT in /system/bin! Guest Buzing Bee Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Also the kernel src asus posted it incomplete
Guest Buzing Bee Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) also ... seems as tho the prompt to jump to RCK is asus's own boot-loader maybe that accepts fastboot commands btw to use nvflash we need a bootloader.bin from the device (to get this we need root) Idea 1 use the stock ventana bootloader from nvidia (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15005030/bootloader_stock_ventana.bin) then do nvflash.exe --bl bootloader_stock_ventana.bin --go nvflash.exe -r --getpartitiontable partitiontable.txt then upload that text file to see where its bootloader and boot images lie WARNING ALTHOUGH THIS SHOULD NOT AFFECT THE DEVICE AS ITS ONLY WRITING TO RAM I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR BRICKS Edited April 8, 2011 by Buzing Bee
Guest Simon O Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) If the kernel source is incomplete then I'll give a chap I know at Asus HQ a shout and see if he can sort it out. Might just be an oversight. Edited April 8, 2011 by flibblesan
Guest Buzing Bee Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 ohh cool updated my last post with a root method idea :D
Guest Buzing Bee Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Some info iv gatherd with the help of scotta9824 on irc -- in Nvflash mode the harmony (vega) drivers dont work | the ventena ones do **see below for download** -- the prompt to boot to RCK (recovery) may be fastboot -- with a working Nvflash driver + binary all commands result with this error Nvflash started rcm version 0X4 Command send failed (usb write failed) -- Ventana devices have a sbk signature check on boot that may or may not be set (athough i dont think this would cause this error) we should see "sbk burned: true" is that was the case NVFLASH ventana binary http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15005030/nvflash.zip NVFLASH ventana driver http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15005030/nvflash_driver_ventana.zip
