First off Hi to all long time lurker first time poster.

Got my San Francisco 3 months ago on my second one now. First one died a funny death lol not really funny since I had to get another (second hand for £50 off bro in law 4 weeks old).

Got up one morning after having on charge overnight and the green android man was on the screen, thought thats funny and popped in pocket and went to work. when going to use it the green man started shaking and disappeared then phone wouldnt turn on at all. later was getting the vibrate every second when holding power button so thought battery was completely flat. left overnight again but no joy. So tried another battery(off new one) no joy and my one in new phone but not an effin thing at all.

So have I fried the battery and phone because I didnt always use its own charger used an LG one with same connection or can it be salvaged?

Thanks for reading,Paul.

Check the output on your LG charger. 5v @ 500ma-1A is fine

Try removing the battery and powering just from USB,

Try just leaving the battery out for a while and see if it fixes itself,

Try entering recovery or try the other recovery modes

If none of the above helps then I'm sorry for you loss :D

If it definitely doesn't work when you send it back, there's no way they can tell, is there? ;-)

I once had an accident with a piezo ignitor, a couple of bits of wire and an exposed test point and battery contact or two.

maybe you can try a TPT to recover it. would be worth a last ditch effort if you're going to bin it anyway.

sending it in for repair can be a bit of a gamble i guess. when i sent mine in, it had a notice that if it wasn't covered by warranty, then i'd have to pay for the repair myself, or pay £30 for it to be sent back to me un-repaired! if i didn't like either option, they'd dispose of it for me :)

otherwise, i'm happy to pick up some spare parts if you're getting rid of it :)

OK, Let's see.. I repair phones and other electronics for a living here in Portugal.

For what i can understand it seems that your phone has an PA burnt... not good.. check if the connectors from the battery are OK... Sometimes is just that simple... :) But if nothing looks funny with the contacts, then I would vote for the PA... if it is in the warranty send it and they change the motherboard.. if not, well, sorry to say the cost would be higher than the value of the phone.. hope it isn't a problem that happens much... will be a pain to send a series to repair. when that happens with Nokia, it usually happens in batches, like with the 8210 for example. it suffered a lot from that.

Hope you can send it to warranty. :)

Ohh something I just remembered... Try to remove both cards and then charge it... just a hunch but sometimes the sd card gets all weird... it doesn’t hurt to try

People have referred to a TPT and a PA. What do these acronyms mean?

TPT refers to the Total Phone Transfer method of flashing a phone.

PA refers to a chip inside the phone hardware that controls the Power intake and output (not only the mains power but also other things that require power in the hardware)

Good luck with that mate.

Knowing Argos repairs very well, they'll probably send it for repair and then charge you for it. Without you being consulted.

They did that with me Missus netbook. More likely they will send it back saying you've voided the warranty by reflashing the JJ.

good luck. with all the faults with the Blade, maybe they'll just replace it once they see it is dead.

Devices can get pretty hot and work perfectly well

But if there was something dodgy with the device the heat could have pushed it over.. Actually its a good thing you "stressed tested" it while it was new..ish :(

Double check the output. If memory serves the stock charger is 800ma, USB is 500ma. It can support 1MA but obviously ZTE felt <800ma was most suitable

Enjoy your new handset! Be sure to put it through its paces :)

Why no try the last cyanogen for GEN 1?

If you don't over-clock and turn on the option to keep the phone awake while charging it is almost perfect (And completely stable)
