Hey guys,

I was just flashing android 2.2 on my s100 with the Acer Download Tool. Everything was fine but now i got a problem. The line "Device" says always "Fastboot Failed" and now the tool told me that i have to restore or something. Now i have a black screen on my phone which says:

USB FastBoot: V1.10.00

HW version: V0.4

AMSS version: A1-05.01.05

Machine ID: 100900 v0

Build Date: Sep 23 2010, 02:34:40

Serial Number: 950458095433

usb_init

erasing 'setupdata' - OKAY

erasing 'boot' - OKAY

writing 'boot (2539520 bytes) verify... verify... - OKAY

erasing 'system' - OKAY

erasing 'setupdata' - OKAY

erasing 'boot' - OKAY

Tell me, what shall i do now? Trying again to flash it?? I hope u'll help me..

Regards

I have to select a qcn file or something, what's that?

I was just selecting a bin file for 2.2

I did everything what that thread mentioned.

U just have to tell me what a qcn is, cause the thread doesn't.

Is it possible to get my 2.1 back? I think i don't want that 2.2..

Edit: Now the tool starts the whole flashing process again.. I hope this time I don't need to select a qcn or something..

Now the Fastboot fails again..ah come one.

What will happen if I flash the regular 2.1 on my liquid now?

What will happen if I flash the regular 2.1 on my liquid now?

you'll have eclair back on your liquid.

anyway, be sure to uncheck the "select qcn file manually" toggle in acer tool anytime you flash.

I did uncheck it, but it still wanted me to select a qcn.

So if i flash the 2.1 everything is going to be normal again?

The download tool says Process: Fastboot since 15 minutes, what happened now?

Please answer my other question, can i flash my old 2.1 again? I did uncheck it, but it still wanted me to select a qcn.

So if i flash the 2.1 everything is going to be normal again?

Only a curiosity, what 2.2 bin are you flashing? And what bin you had on your phone previously? It's not normal that ADT asks for a qcn file if you have unchecked the box.. :S

I'm using this one:

Maybe the .bin is just sucky, which one do u recommend?

Edit: I had the normal 2.1 from the acer website.

The thread "how to flash a bin" didn't tell me anything about qcn. It just told me to browse the .bin and press start.

All right i'm trying another bin now, hope it will work now.

If you have Liquid E I strongly recommend the firmware you can find on Acer's website,it's a .exe and will do the job without using Acer Tool :)

But if you have Liquid A1,you can try to flash another froyo bin,for example 4.504b :)

Yeah in my thread I didn't mentioned .qcn files because they are related to the SimLock of you SIM card and IMEI number of your phone, and it's very dangerous (and in some situations, illegal) to play with them!

Did you flagged qcn selection with one of the previous flashes? If yes ... call the nearest acer support center cause you may have fu*@ed up your IMEI setting ...

But first try to flash the 4.002.14.EMEA.GEN1 256mb version and see if that works.

edit: ok I didn't read the previous post... try to flash an eclair rom for your device and if that goes well try again with the 4.002.14. If you run out of luck... only way I can think of is send phone to assistance.

edit2: what happens if you click on "abbrechen" (abort) in that dialog? fastboot failed?

Apart from the fact that he may have changed his phone IMEI!!

This could be true (and illegal),but since he doesn't bring his phone to the assistance, this should be OK :)

But it depends,maybe nothing changed..

He should compare phone's IMEI that shows up by dialling *#06# and IMEI code written on the phone, under the battery. If they are the same,no worries :)

Anyway, thanks for the help everybody i'll post the IMEI(i have no badword clue what that is) later..

Btw: Don't blame me but do u recommend custom roms? Do they increase my phone hardly?

Regards.

Edit: It's the same IMEI, i randomly picked the right .qcn I guess :P

Appmonster Pro is a nice app, u can backup|install|uninstall|app2sd and so on. U just need to reinstall it and it will backup all ur apps.

U should try it, there is a lite version as well :)

i'm new to android and i had the same problem when flashing 2.2 too, and i found a solution to the triangle error

just hit the home key and use the volume up and down to choose restore factory and hit the camera key and your phone is fine and it reboots to 2.2
