What's the deal with broken touch screens?

There have been a few threads about the touchscreen not working on TFT & OLED blades but it seems that nobody has come up with a fix yet.

Being stuck with a GEN 1 blade that can only run the stock ROM (and de-branded ROMS), this is a little annoying since 2.1's bluetooth doesn't play well when paired with a car's handfree system.

Has anyone come close to solving the issue?

Erm, what are you trying to ask? ALL THE ROMS are for gen1 only Swedish sting is for gen2

I'm asking if there's any progress on fixing the non-responsive touch screen issue since I can't flash any roms without having the issue.

Oh ofcourse! I was reading badly :/ I've never had this issue myself, only once. The screen wasn't responding so I locked the phone (tapped the power button) I then tapped it back on and it responded. But I don't think its the same issue. And I've only had it once

try sebastian's deoranged r7. this worked for me with touchscreen problems. i get occasional touchscreen issues with CM7 nightly even though i just had the digitizer replaced...

I've got de-orangeated r9 working on the phone, but it's android 2.1-update1, which I think may have trouble with Bluetooth hands free kits, which is the real problem I'm having.
