Have I bricked my phone?

Hi Forum Members,

I've successfully installed Froyo 2.2 on my phone and the wife was so impressed that I got her a SF and did the same. Everything was wonderful until today when her phone doesn't seem to wake up. She had installed some power management app which may have caused the problem, but I can't seem to get her phone to display anything on screen.

There is no problem with the battery, I've tried it in mine, and the screen backlight does come on when switched on, and the little haptic shake as well when the power button is pressed, but nothing is displayed. I've plugged it in to the PC and it is registered by Vista, but I can't get to the SD card.

Does anyone know a way of fixing it, a hard reset would be fine as well. I've tried rebooting into clockwork with the volume down button at power up, but same blank screen.

Any other tests I should carry out? Just so you know, I'm a newbie and only got as far as I have with the excellent guides on this site. Now I have a problem which isn't so simple!

Thanks.

If you didn't do anything to cause it & can't even get the screen to light in clockwork, or get the green android at the start, then it's probably a fault with the screen or the connection to it. Probably best off returning it to get a replacement.

Thanks. My only concern is that I've technically voided the warranty by flashing it with 2.2. But if the screen's not working then there is no way of telling, right?

Nah don't worry about it :)

I guess if you are really threating about it you could try a total phone transfer to restore the phone to stock. If you device is faulty (As it sounds) then thy will probably just fix / replace it without even checking for custom roms (Which had noting to do with the problem)

Plus with data protection and the likes chances are they will just wipe it clean before attempting to fix it
