Guest jayhix Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 ok i asked this in the cm7 nightly thread but didnt get a reply so thought id make a topic, basically since around n31 cant remember when exactly my phone stopped detecting music files on my sd card through the default music app or any other app on my phone, EXCEPT double twist. Which is odd, when i go to a music app other than double twist the phone informs me there are no songs present and displays a blank list. I thought maybe this issue would be fixed with a wipe and fresh install of cm n37 however it didnt i still cant detect or play music though the music apps.. :/ furthermore id prefer not to format the sd card as i dont think this is the problem and its a pain. any ideas please? :)
Guest ThrashMan Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Make sure there is not a file in there called ".nomedia"
Guest jayhix Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 awesome thanks, had to do a restart for it to work, what caused that stupid file to be created?? :\
Guest ThrashMan Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 One of the filemanagers has the option on a folder "Exclude from media scan" and creates that file......you been playing with the menu button in a file manager? :)
Guest carkev Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Make sure there is not a file in there called ".nomedia" @ThrashMan a brilliant bit of advice mate ... this has beenn doing my head in for a while also

MM The debugging option isn't listed at all in CM7, it's a bug. Have you tried the usual removal of the SD card and restart of the phone? On another note, the .nomedia issue is another reason why I always use the ZTE Filer in any ROM I'm in :) Edited April 23, 2011 by Matthew Ferguson
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 my problem is the opposite. is there a way of excluding music you don't want? (i.e. all the sounds and crap from all my gameloft games come up in the default music app under: unknown artist) so when i hit shuffle. over half the songs played are 10 second bits from my games. REALLY ANNOYING how do i exclude the default music player from seeing these files? or, can i make the music player only play songs from a particular file? (eg. sdcard/music) cheers

Reboot required (before you come back and claim it has no effect)
