Guest gn123 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) So I went to charge my ZTE Blade this morning, just to notice that the cable on the plug has physically snapped. Directly USB charging from a PC is obviously still an option, but I was wondering if anyone had any similar wall chargers that would be a good fit. My main cause of concern is possible damage done through output volts/amps not matching up with the original charger. Edited April 10, 2011 by gn123

Otherwise you may already have plenty of spares from your junk drawer left from othe devices.
Guest Roph Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Make sure it's 5V, and between 500-1000 mA and you should be good to go.

Guest gn123 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 I was looking at 1000ma chargers, so it is good to know that they are likely to work. No spare USB chargers around the house I am afraid.
Guest Roph Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Some just use the connector, and you don't want to be sticking one of those into your blade. Like some chargers also use a TRS connector, strange.

Guest Phoenix Silver Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 If it has USB output, it has to be 5v. no :) i have fried my blade with an usb charger :) (half a second pchitttttt blade dead) was 12 V output so be careful Azurren yes deja vu ^^
Guest Sushimaster Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Last night i couldn't find my charger anywhere so i plugged in the wall charger that was supplied with the kindle 3, worked perfectly.
Guest ronc2000 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Deja vu I'm sure we have had this discussion before ronc2000 :) Yes but that was a charger with micro USB "connector" issue. And I agreed with you. This topic is an AC charger with a USB port, like the one supplied with OSF, which MUST be 5v output.
Guest ronc2000 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 no :) i have fried my blade with an usb charger :) (half a second pchitttttt blade dead) was 12 V output so be careful Azurren yes deja vu ^^ Was that a USB port output charger? or a charger with a micro USB connector? I bet it was the latter so it is not the same as discussed here. Any Charger with a standard USB port (in which you plug in the USB cable) has to be 5v.
Guest womble_sanfran Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I bought one on ebay but when it is plugged into my blade the touchscreen doesnt work, it does charge up though but I have no idea why plugging it in disables the touchscreen, anyone any ideas?

Guest wakaru Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I bought one on ebay but when it is plugged into my blade the touchscreen doesnt work, it does charge up though but I have no idea why plugging it in disables the touchscreen, anyone any ideas? The same happens with a charget I got from eBay as well. Somewhere in the forums I read it has something to do with the ground pin from the cable and the ground from the circuit of the charger not being linked together. Could not confirm this as I have not tried fixing it since it is not a big deal for me, although I may do in future.
Guest nexstar Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 must have 1A current. i tried have 800mA cannot charge up when doing hotspot
Guest ronc2000 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 must have 1A current. i tried have 800mA cannot charge up when doing hotspot 500mA should be enough. DO NOT believe what (output) is written on the charger label especially if it is not an orignal item.

Guest eLJay Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I bought an apple usb charger plug (the evil of apple). Works really well though and its smaller than my international usb charger which is handy if I'm not going abroad.
