Guest R3v3r3nD Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Hi! I've been following the forum for a while and upgraded my pulse to 2.1. I have to say this forum is great :) All this time I used my pulse with an iSim like adapter from DX. It's been not so good as I sometimes lost network. So I decided to go for unlock (finally). I was more than happy to see today an email with the code in my inbox. The code worked and the phone was unlocked. Everything was fine until I rebooted couple hours later. Since then I have no 3G symbol and no network connection :) Please help! I have no idea what might be wrong... I tried rebooting, replacing the battery and simcard and still nothing. Before that 3G was working fine. Well not fine, because I sometimes lost conection (like with the voice service) but I think (hope) it was due to the iSim. Any ideas? Anyone had this problem? thanks!

Do you think it's possible the unlock messed something up? erm from my experience, (i've recently unlocked my pulse too) it shouldnt have, but it could have. i changed from tmobile to giff gaff, and did not have to change any settings, perhaps the network you have changed to require you to manually update your internet settings?

Well, I had Internet with iSim... In the options I had proper APN, but just to make sure I added one more manually - neither works... I also have no problem with using WiFi.

I also have no problem with using WiFi. double check your APN networks, im 90% sure unlocking wont have caused this unless your APN settings are wrong. i too cant connect to wifi but ive had this problem since cm6 was released:( if all else fails try reinstalling your current rom :\
Guest R3v3r3nD Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 For a moment there, after playing around with "Use only 2G", I had "E" icon. I then wanted to have 3G so I unticked "use only 2g" and it went to what it was - no data connection :/ Going back and forth gives no reproducible result. This is seriously weird...

Guest R3v3r3nD Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) :s i get E sometimes too, dont even know what it stands for lol :) E probably, to best of my knowledge, stands for "excrement" because you can't do s**t while it's on, but this needs citation. Anyway I used to have 3G where I'm at now i.e. home. Edited April 11, 2011 by R3v3r3nD

E stands for Edge, it is equivalent to 3g
Guest h3dshot Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 E stands for Edge, it is equivalent to 3g party pooper :) preferred excrement:D
Guest Casterina Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 party pooper :) preferred excrement:D LMAOO! I thought i'd save him the trouble, browsing for hours just too find what the letter 'E' REAL meant :) :)
Guest R3v3r3nD Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 LMAOO! I thought i'd save him the trouble, browsing for hours just too find what the letter 'E' REAL meant :) :) This was an obvious joke :) But you could save me some blood pressure helping me figure out why this bloody thing doesn't work. I had this 'E' icon again after playing with options but after reboot I can't get it back. It's no fun being left with half the functionality :/ I think I'll have to learn how to back up apps and stuff. BTW is it possible to backup data about networks like passwords etc and stuff? Another thing is that I think my phone operates faster once unlocked, or maybe it's just me...

Nope, you cant back up your password or data.. its just nand backup, which backs up the whole phone :) and urmm... are you sure it isnt a framework you recently downloaded or anything which might have caused this??? This is a very odd issue :P Like have you downloaded a status bar thing or anything> Themes etc? Its just you ;) unlock doesnt do nothing with the speed of your phone as i recall... Download setCPU :) too have a faster phone
Guest Boony123 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) 1. keep the phone on then remove the battery 2. take out the sim, then turn the phone on 3. wait for it all to boot up then remove the battery again WITHOUT shutting down the phone. 4. place in the sim card and turn on that "should" solve your signal issues if its not a phone ofc :) it forces the phone to look for a better signal :) Edited April 11, 2011 by Boony123
Guest R3v3r3nD Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Strange thing - After playing around with options, removing the battery and all I gave up because there was still no result. I left the phone for couple of hours on the desk at work without touching it and when I picked it up I had internet connection! I did so many things, so many times I have no idea what helped. Or maybe it just fixed itself... One thing is for sure - I didn't install anything for several months, so there is no way it was caused by an app. Plus I get 'E' more often - it used to be 3G or G. Well, what I really meant was that it was slowed down by the iSim or at least it seemed so. Thank you guys for help! Once I'm at least a little bit less busy I will get round to reinstalling with something more up to date and see if that netowrk problem persists... either that or I reboot my phone, cause I'm still afraid to do it :)
