Guest Frankish Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on what the best fastest web browser is for Android. I've finally ventured away from the stock browser to try other things. First I tried Opera and it seemed a bit sluggish. Trying Opera Mini now and it seems quite quick! However I'm still open to trying others. Thanks guys.

Dolphin is pretty awesome too! http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-co...you-use--940899 Check out that link!

I use dolphin but idk i find it quite slow even on my wifi, i'd love a reccomendation for a faster browser, it doesn't need to be full of features after all i have my laptop for most web browsing
Guest Frankish Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Seems Opera Mini is best for me then. Never tried Skyfire though for viewing flash content!

Have you thought about firefox 4 mobile, I know its only like 2.5stars in the market at last check but mozilla reckons its improved a lot. Should test it out myself really.
Guest Lew247 Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 This may help you http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-co...you-use--940899
Guest ZEbbEDY Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I used xscope till a few weeks ago and like the instant back/forward through the history but am using opera mobile now its just better imo, i use opera on my pc but the previous opera browsers didnt cut it imo but these new opera mobile are immense
Guest ricer Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Skyfire is slow as hell on my Blade. I recommend Opera Mobile, has faired me very well indeed
Guest Azurren Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) I have test almost every browser available and here is my rundown: Day to day: Opera mobile (No contest here) "Flash" videos: Skyfire (Slow and laggy but is the only choice) Anything important: Stock (Order forms etc. You want it to just "work" and not randomly get stuck on some complex javascript elements) So.. Opera mobile all the way :) Oh and FireFox isn't compatible with the blade.. Neither is the experimental ARM 6 version Edited April 12, 2011 by Azurren
Guest Fou-lu Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Opera mini+dolphin HD are best, opera for pure speed, dolphin for features, stock 2.3 is same speed as dolphin really, skyfire is shockingly slow, to much bloatware on it's UI, 60% of the flash vidz work too. Edited April 12, 2011 by Fou-lu
Guest Daimaah Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 I've tried a number of browsers yet I've always come back to Miren, it just... works.
Guest Steep Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Opera mobile now that it has flash support, nothing beats it.
Guest Michealtbh Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Check out Miren. I keep Skyfire around too for flash content. I tried Opera for a while but its just plain annoying
Guest mickey megabyte Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 +1 for miren lite, simple. effective
Guest Frankish Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Opera mobile now that it has flash support, nothing beats it. Not for those of use with arm6 cpu's like the Blade still. In the end i kept Opera Mini, miles faster than Opera Mobile and just seems smoother to scroll etc. Also set up skyfire for erm...adult content :)

Maybe I missed something and Opera mini is still faster than Opera mobile with turbo on, though as far as my experience goes, there doesn't seem to be any difference in speed. Also what about Dolphin mini there seemed to be a lot of talk about it. I used it for a while and it was quite fast, I liked the whole interface and it looked good in general, Opera has that giant red "O" and it's just repulsive to the eye, but of course thats not important compared to functionality, tho I wish I could skin it :)

Plus size difference is something like 19mb :) You could always pull the images from the Opera .apk and edit them that's easy enough :)
Guest hc_1540 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 My personal favourite is Dolphin. Really love the gesture controls especially the way you can go to the top of a page. In a way this emulates one of my most missed tools from the iPhone i.e. touch the top of the screen and it takes you to the top of the web page
Guest targetbsp Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Miren. It's just the best at formatting things to your screen size (in landscape) I've tried all the others, Skyfire, both versions of Opera, all the Dolphins but Miren wins it with XScope a close second.
Guest ms20 Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Opera mini is easily the fastest, especially when on a 2G or slow 3G network. I only use Skyfire for videos because its just slow, the best i've found is Dolphin Mini - it scrolls relatively smoothly and is nicely laid out
Guest Casterina Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Opera Mini :) Its easy and fasttt!!
Guest ZEbbEDY Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Will there really not be any flash on the blade? Ive got a zt180 tablet which is 1ghz arm 11 and the devs got flash working on it and the blade seems a lot quicker than my tablet but i was resigned to the fact that no flash till adobe does it but then they released it

My understanding is that that is both crap and not compatible with Froyo and above.
