Guest sidhusadha Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Hello, I have installed the latest CM7 stable ROM on my Orange san francisco. The performance of my device is good.. :) But the only thing I couldn't find in CM7 rom is the "Turn to mute" option. I was previously using Paul's MCR r12 and that feature was available in it. Is the 'turn to mute' feature not available in CM7 or am I missing some setting here?
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 you are missing some thing here. it doesn't have an option 'turn to mute' in settings > sound but you can still turn it to mute (by other ways such as with the power widget) how did you do it on the stock rom, do it that way.....
Guest sidhusadha Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Thanks for the reply. The thing is I flashed a 2.2 rom as soon as I got the phone. So I didn't play with the stock android enough to know how to enable this. :) Anyway, I checked the power widget in CM7 but couldn't find any setting related to the 'turn to mute' feature.
Guest sidhusadha Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Guys any solution for the 'turn to mute' option??
Guest Swimmerboy Posted April 12, 2011 Report Posted April 12, 2011 Guys any solution for the 'turn to mute' option?? Sure - Instead of turning it over, just hit the Vol [-] button with your thumb instead. :)
Guest sidhusadha Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Well that's one solution but not as effective as the turn to mute. :) So is the 'turn to mute' feature missing from CM7 as of now?? [PS: I'm enquiring regarding this because it is a pretty cool and useful feature.]

Guest Schwinni Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 With MySettings you can toggle between "only sound", "sound & vibration", "only vibration" and "completely silent" with 2 clicks.

[PS: I'm enquiring regarding this because it is a pretty cool and useful feature.] Hi, These are the ways I know to go to "mute" mode with CM7: - the lockscreen has an option to switch mute/unmute - the notification bar has a series of icons that you can customize: one of them is a cycle switch to change your ringtone policy You can customize the notification bar option via the cyanogenmod settings entry, then go to "Interface", "Energy management in notification bar" (or stg similar, this is just a raw translation from my French version), and "Widget buttons". You finally have a "Ringtone modes" option down at the bottom of this screen, which lets you determine what sequence you want the widget to follow when pushing the button in the notification bar. Obviously you'll have to enable the widget buttons accordingly in the previous screen. This gets you down to two actions to go to mute mode: open the notification bar, push the widget button. Hope this will help...
