Guest Psyloid Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Hello! I have a few games from Gameloft on my Orange San Francisco. The first one I had was Asphalt 5, as it's the only one on Android Market, and it worked really well. Then after a while, the Gameloft logo and intro video wouldn't play, but the game still works. I tried deleting and re-downloading the cache files, but that didn't work. When I tried to play the video directly from the system files, it tells me the video can't be played. I have tried it on the default ROM, Swedish Spring, and Cyanogenmod 7, and none of them will play it. I have tried a few other Gameloft games, including Brothers in Arms 2 and Dungeon Hunter, and the videos in neither of them will play. It is quite confusing. Occasionally, the not-playing of the videos will cause the whole game to crash. Also, until very recently, Dungeon Hunter still worked perfectly and beautifully, despite the video not working, but now it just skips the videos, then gets to the loading screen before changing resolution a few times then crashing. Again, I have tried this on more than one ROM. The phone itself just seems to be getting more and more broken and corrupted. Is it the hardware video codecs causing the problems, possibly? If anyone can offer any help, I would really appreciate it, but it's still under warranty, so if I can't fix the problem in a few days, I'll just send it back. Sorry to introduce myself to these forums by asking an annoying question; I've been lurking for a while, and you all seem a lovely bunch. Thanks! Adam I have exactly the same problem, i can watch the video's only in Moboplayer using software decoding ..., i tried various roms as well, same phone, don't think its hardware though ... Can others confirm this defect as well? Is there a solution to this? Edited May 6, 2011 by Psyloid
