Guest psidoc Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Hi all. Just been playing with the overclock on KK's SS4b and am running 768mhz which seems stable. Is that good? Here's my test procedure: Set the O/C at frequency, then, because of the on demand feature, to stress test the CPU I have been taking my Lotus in Asphalt 5 for a race. I figured the CPU will be flat out during gaming and each race lasts approx 5 mins which should be a good test. As a foot note it managed about 3 mins @ 787 before lock up, Psi Edited April 13, 2011 by psidoc
Guest Swimmerboy Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 ...am running 768mhz which seems stable. Is that good? ...it managed about 3 mins @ 787 before lock up, From what you've said above - I'd say no. From what I gather most people find 710Mhz stable, some can go to 729Mhz and a few lucky ones can push slightly further. If it's locking up after 3 minutes I'd recommend to back it off a few steps and try again.
Guest psidoc Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 787 locked up after 3 mins. 768 no lockups. So running at 768 is good then. Happy days.
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 I'm only at 672 :L your nearly 100mhz faster than me :L
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Very very phone depedent Old blade was stable art 691 New one is stable at 749
Guest ricer Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Plug it in to charge, if its going to lock up, it'll be when its charging.
Guest Casterina Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 Just make a profile, at a lower CPU frequency when charging.. if you set it at 700mhz+ and your phone is charging it will overheattt :/
Guest psidoc Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 I have the CPU speed set for on demand so when it's idle it falls back to 122mhz and 768mhz when required. Will keep an eye on it when charging this evening. Thanks for that info mate. It's appreciated. Psi

Guest psidoc Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 (edited) Have you got a simple guide on how to do this? Thanks in advance Installed KK's Swedish Spring 4B rom and used the inbuilt no frills CPU control to set the upper and lower clock frequencies. Job done. @Jamidodger1: Yes I am on Modaco. :) Psi Edited April 14, 2011 by psidoc
