Guest Swimmerboy Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 i am looking for a change of rom, but im not sure what to change to.........is CM7 stable enough now to run as a everyday rom?????? Has been asked repeatedly. The answer depends on your situation and what you're happy with. Try it and see for yourself, worst case go back to a Nandroid backup and pick up where you left off.
Guest jamidodger1 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Yeah, The Dev's have done a amazing job so far and have nearly made a stable "stable" version :) like Swimmerboy says do a nandroid backup and if you dont like it you can restore. :)
Guest heavyduty00 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 yes extremely stable, i have no bugs or glitches on my phone with cm7 stable...but I dont overclock or use gps.
Guest negakinu Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 i am looking for a change of rom, but im not sure what to change to.........is CM7 stable enough now to run as a everyday rom?????? I had the same question as you did, coming from the custom Modaco 2.2 ROM. I flashed CM7 and, although it's really well put together, it still has a few bugs that keep if from being very functional. Battery life is atrocious, it shuts off during recharging and the UI is a bit laggy compared to Froyo ROMs. Mind you, these bugs are well-documented. Check out the nightly builds for updates on these bugs. I'd stick to the 2.2 ROMs for now.
Guest JayGB1982 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Battery life is good for me on CM7 :) I get around a day with moderate usage The UI is fine once you get shot of ADW... Launcher Pro FTW!!!
Guest jamidodger1 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 yes extremely stable, i have no bugs or glitches on my phone with cm7 stable...but I dont overclock or use gps. Well I Wouldn't Say Stable To be honest. There are still bugs that would make it "extremely stable"

Guest jamidodger1 Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Like when you charge it on the 'stable' release it reboots after a while. Different people are getting all different problems
Guest DannyDanny Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Yes very stable. It is very well put together. The standard launcher is laggy but with launcher pro, it is the fastest blade you will ever own. Only issue would be keyboard settings will reset to standard gingerbread keyboard after a reboot.

Guest Casterina Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 Yeah, i would download it.. and install LauncherPro, the app drawer is very fast :)

Guest sambartle Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) Only issue would be keyboard settings will reset to standard gingerbread keyboard after a reboot. That would be particularly annoying.. Does this happen for everyone everytime or is it just something you have seen once in a while? Edited April 15, 2011 by sambartle
Guest Michealtbh Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Doesn't happen to me. Swype beta sometimes disables itself on reboot for me, but I'm pretty sure that's an a2sd issue

LAuncher pro is amazing, but in terms of the keyboard I have swype beta installed and it stays as the default... even after i reboot
Guest DannyDanny Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 LAuncher pro is amazing, but in terms of the keyboard I have swype beta installed and it stays as the default... even after i reboot seems that I am the only one with that problem :) So it must be a good thing for everyone. It also resets all language and voice control country as well.

Guest N3M35I5 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 i am looking for a change of rom, but im not sure what to change to.........is CM7 stable enough now to run as a everyday rom?????? I've just installed CM7 stable and found it not to be very smooth with the touchscreen and a bit laggy on my ZTE Blade. so first off i installed LauncherPro[free from market] - that speeded up the touch screen a hell of alot then i removed the animated wallpaper and now it seems pretty flawless, Not quite as fast as froyo but there isnt much between them at all speed wise (just my opinion) once you have the speed sorted its just a matter of going trough all the settings and customizing it how you want it :). hope this helped. :)
Guest haris.b Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 i installed cm7 2 days ago. i removed adw launcher from zip and integrated original froyo 3d launcher (i prefer it over gingerbread launcher because its so smooth and fast). before this i was using flb r10b but i would never go back to 2.2 because this rom is working flawlesly! i even think that my battery life is better! my only problem is that i cant use any of my three 8gb sd cards (i had the same problem on 2.1 and 2.2).. so is it the right time? definitely :)
