Guest jt! Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 hey all, Managed to make a huge fail today, shutdown my phone, removed micro sd, added some files via usb adapter, turned on phone to get a message "blank card or incompatible file system", prompted to format the card, i declined the offer and opted to try it in my pc again... windows doesnt read the card now either and offers to format it. so i've tried a couple of recovery programs with no luck so far, biggest question is should i reformat it before trying to recover the data? any help or suggestions are much appreciated! im kind of stuck :/

Does a block-by-block scan and is usually quite good at recovering photos, videos and documents from broken cards. It's freeware or open source somewhere - google should know.
Guest Michealtbh Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 DON'T reformat. Try a program called Recuva, I've had success with it in the past
