Guest Attitudes Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 It looks like alot of ppl dont take the time to read posts in here at all, on every page in the Rom thread, there are ppl asking for helps with the reboots and marked problems they have...... So, if u have this problem: The phone reboots: Remove F-Secure and Car Home (yes it helps) My Marked does not work: U have the wrong time and date, fix it and Marked wil work again. Attitudes
Guest Norupz Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 It looks like alot of ppl dont take the time to read posts in here at all This seems sadly to be a big factor/problem on every techie forums now a days :)

Attitudes Sorry m8 but not all reboots are fixed when removing f-secure and car home, yes it helps for some indeed but like myself i dont have f-secure and/or car home installed and still had problems with reboots. For me and for others in the FR12 thread the problem is related to Juice Defender and or Green Power. After removing that i didnt have any problems anymore.
Guest utp Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 my problem here seems to be related to SMS, due to work related issue, I had LOTS of SMS alerts, some of them rush in within few minutes, I notice I frequently got reboot which I am sure there are SMS alert rushing in. I removed ALOTs of LG preinstall crapware, even OnScreenPhone or so, I get less reboot now, tho problem still exist..
Guest roakes Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 I am using Fr12 without Car Home, F-Secure and no Juice Defended or the like...still have lockup issues.

It is still a problem, and alot of ppl who have removed it has got it fixed, but yes, there are still other things making the reboots and freezes, like the problems u list. The meaning with the post is to get ppl to read the posts in the rom tread, as the same questions is repeating them self on every page. For me this fixed it al :)
Guest gargra Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 never had reboot issues myself before fr12.. disabling juice defender fixed it though
Guest Frank Sem-Jacobsen Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 never had reboot issues myself before fr12.. disabling juice defender fixed it though I think I know why it helps to remove juice defender. I have written about elsewhere on this forum (in the fr 12 thread) that I get random reboots when I pull out my headphone jack. This is because at that point the phone switches from aeroplane mode into regular mode (tasker). I got a log dump from the phone while doing this, and as far as I can tell it is caused by Bluetooth trying to switch on. My guess is that juice defender plays with radio setting such as Bluetooth, and possibly other radios, and that this causes the reboots.
Guest Involver Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 I'm having reboots on FR12 as well, but I think after reading a post in the FR12 topic from Trym that it's more related to the external SD card. I've had the phone running all night WITH JD enabled and WITHOUT SD card, no problems. Then this morning I mounted the SD again and within half an hour - reboot! I suggest everybody with reboot issues try the same, remove the external SD and see what happens. I'm currently repeating this test but with different BT and WiFi settings, as someone suggested maybe a broken BT driver (see above).
Guest Involver Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 Ok, I've had my phone running all day without any reboots and WITHOUT the SD card. One hour ago I plugged the SD card back in and it just rebooted again! Definitely something wrong with the SD card...
Guest Lucky-Strike Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Ok, I've had my phone running all day without any reboots and WITHOUT the SD card. One hour ago I plugged the SD card back in and it just rebooted again! Definitely something wrong with the SD card... Yup, totally agree on that one. I don't have any reboots except when I acces to the SD card : switch to storage, mount/unmount... tried with multiple SD card, formated by the phone... I'm trying to get some logs.
Guest Sorensiim Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 The problems are definitely SD-related, but for me they only started after flashing FR12, as I have none of the known "bad" apps installed. (fsecure, car home, etc). Now I'm running a bake from romkitchen.org, currently 27 hours without any FCs, reboots, stalls or hickups. With SD card mounted, apps installed to SD and everything. And that's with a Modaco kernel as the base of the rom :)
Guest Lucky-Strike Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) The problems are definitely SD-related I've got pretty logs :( of the crash. Monitored from adb, and asked the phone to unmount the SD card, it crashed immediatly. The thing is I don't really know Android so the logs are useless to me (well I see where is the problem, but why and how to fix, no idea). Does someone (Paul :) ?) want it ? More important, I spotted a strange behavior. It doesn't crash every time when I try to unmount but only... when I launch Angry Bird before :) . Here is the protocol I followed : - Phone is off. Starting it. Launching Angry Bird. Quiting it, but not killing it. Going to parameters, and unmounting SD card ==> crash This is repeatable, it does it every time. - Phone is off. Starting it. Going straight to unmount the SD card ==> no problem. Remounting SD card ==> fine too. But then can't play Angry Birds (LG Home force close). NOTE : Tested on STOCK ROM ! And with app (here Angry Birds) installed on SD (says "move to phone" in settings > app > Angry birds). So it seems that the phone doesn't handle properly apps that are installed to SD : I just noticed that in the app management, I had the option "move to the phone" for Angry Birds. Ask for the crash log if you want it.
