Guest RogoUK Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 Had a little search on the site and couldn't find an answer, so... Just purchased my SanFran today and went to install the Modaco version of Froyo 2.2 which failed, unsure as to why, so installed Japanese Jellyfishes latest build instead. Done all this before unlocking the device and I'm thinking that may have been a mistake? Or has putting this ROM on my device already unlocked it? I've followed the steps in the "free unlock code" thread, but when I insert my o2 sim card, it simply says card invalid, and doesn't ask me to enter the unlock code at any point. The sim card is very old, and was just using the o2 sim card to unlock it as I don't receive my Giff Gaff sim card until tomorrow. Any advice would be great Regards, RogoUK
Guest deanhiggins2 Posted April 15, 2011 Report Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) You need to put orange sim card in first so orange can activat iemi then unlock with code then put Japanese Jellyfishes rom on Edited April 15, 2011 by deanhiggins2
Guest ronc2000 Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 You need to put orange sim card in first so orange can activat iemi then unlock with code That is not necessary. As OP thought putting in any 2.2 rom practically unlock the phone but instruction clearly states unlock phone first before flashing JJ rom. (for JJ only) Not all flashings are smooth and I suspect that the first rom flash from OP had a hiccup.
