Trying to go back to Official 2.2 from SD 1.9.0

Ever since I upgraded to SD 1.9.0, I have been encountering problems. mainly rebooting for no reason and at random times. I don't think it's the rom's fault.

I tried to go back to the official 2.2 via QDL repair tool but it kept getting stuck at the dell logo screen.

Tried via fastbooting and same problem as well.

But I can always flash back to SD 1.9.0 with no problems

Through all that my streak is showing the following information:

Android Version

2.2.2

Baseband Version

GAUSB1A130500-US

Kernel Version

2.6.32.9-DJ_Steve-BFS-CFQ-KGSL2D-Vol-OC

Oem Version

190

Build number

StreakDroid 1.9.0

I know there is a gazillion topic about this but someone suggested I should start my own topic.

Can some please help me out? How do I go about getting the official rom on my steak?

TIA

umm.. anyone? :)

Since u know about flashing , it should be easy.

First flash the recovery of the stock rom u want to flash.

Then install update.pkg from that recovery.

Files u need

- Recovery for the rom

-update.pkg for the rom

thmanii has made an excellant list. it has all the roms and their recovery.

( if u have cwm recovery u can just flash update.zip file from the list )

if you got a fresh rom, fresh recovery, only thing that cause this must be cache and data. try a factory reset.

Well I finally managed the install 2.2. Everything was great until it started rebooting again. ARGH!!

This is driving me crazy.

I agree with GOPU... about the only thing that would cause the boot loop is a dirty cache....

I know it seems obvious but clear the dalvik cache, wipe your cache partition, do a factory reset, etc.... all that stuff to make sure there is NOTHING in the way of a clean flash....

TO be honest, I have "bricked" my Streak twice, and both times after clearing all that junk out of the way, I was able to use the QDL tool to get back to the stock 2.2 Froyo 305 baseband and start over fresh, no matter how bad I had screwed things up

If after all that gets done and you still can't get a clean boot, I would have to suggest you download a fresh version of your QDL tool, you may have some corruption in your files and that is bleeding over to the write process, in turn your device is missing an essential bit of code it needs to boot correctly.

Good luck to ya

Trust me! I have done everything possible... even took apart the phone and installed a new memory card and I'm still having the same problem.

I thought by upgradinng to the official rom, I can stop it from rebooting. But no...

Do you think it's a hardware problem??

Here is what I do when I install a new rom.

1. Wipe data/Factory Reset from Clockwork

2. Wipe cache

3. Wipe Dalvik cache

4. Install new rom.

1st boot will guarantee that it will reboot before even finishing the phone setup... Triple LED flash and buh-bye...

I got the Streak from the US so I doubt I can even return it from Australia...
