Guest blindNik Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) Hi. some weeks ago i installes SS RLS3 plus some skins via clockwork 3.0.0.6. Today i tried the repartitioning script to resize the system partition. First bootup with power plus vol+ after installing the zip lead to the normal Desktop. The reboot with power + menu + vol+ lead to the screen with green writing but with the wrong result: Update from T-Flash Card! load /mmc1/image/appsboot.mbn 100% load /mmc1/image/boot.img 90 % error! after that all boots failed. I can enter a FTM screen via but with power + vol- or the screen above mentioned with menu + power + vol+. normal bootup get stuck at the android screen. Hope someone has a hint for me to revive my blade.. Sorry for my poor english. I hope you can understand my problems, but at the moment I'm a little nervous :) Greez blind Edited April 16, 2011 by blindNik
Guest blindNik Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Sorry for double posting :) Is it possible to install a new rom through this http://androidforums.com/san-francisco-all...custom-rom.html guide? Or rescue my phone via replacing the backup on my sdcard? I'm not complete desperate what makes sense to try...
Guest wbaw Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 You'll want an sd card reader... First try replacing the boot.img in the /image directory in the sd card with the original one from the SS zip file & try again. If that doesn't work, then copy the image directory to your computer & delete it from the sd card. Replace boot.img with the one from your SS zip. Download clockworkmod recovery here: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/blade/...0.1.4-blade.img Start your phone with vol+ held & connect it to your computer. then use fastboot & the .img files from your phone. fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash system system.img fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-3.0.1.4-blade.img fastboot flash userdata userdata.img The last one might not work, if it's too big, but if the others work, then your phone should boot.
Guest blindNik Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 Thanks a lot, I'll give this a try. The problem is, that i have no SD card reader for micro SD-Cards. But it should be possible to install clockwork via fastboot followed by install of another custom rom (SS RLS 4b), shouldn't it? Additionally i would be able to reset the partioning via installing another zip via clockwork. If anything is wrong with that plan please give me a sign :)

Clockwork can't reset the partitioning on it's own, you need the tpt for that, but that part of the tpt should have been done, appsboot.mbn contains the partition information & that got flashed. I've no idea why it failed on boot.img maybe the file got corrupted somehow, you're the first person to report this problem. Maybe your sd card has problems?

So finally my Blade runs again :) Partitioning worked fine (thanks for the script :) ), so i wasn't able to restore my only backup (stock ROM). Nevertheless the installation of SS RLS 3 (my former rom that was still on my sd card worked well.) I will check my sd card for errors, but i didnt expect some, because my Blade is only about one month old and the SD card is not intensively used. Thanks for your help! I was really "little" concerned I bricked my Blade :) Edited April 16, 2011 by blindNik
Guest wbaw Posted April 16, 2011 Report Posted April 16, 2011 (edited) Luckily it's quite hard to totally brick them. The script is designed so that even if everything goes totally wrong then you should still be able to do another tpt to fix it. It's very strange that you had a problem at all though, I don't know what went wrong, I'd guess either low battery or an sd card error. A microsd card reader is very cheap & could be a good investment, sometimes it can be useful to be able to read/write the sdcard if your phone stops working. Edited April 16, 2011 by wbaw

I think somewhere around here is a Card reader that is able to handle micro SD cards, but i wasnt able to find it :). Battery was freshly charged, so that wasn't the issue. As I said i will check the SD card, but as my phone is fine again nothing happened except I spend some hours to reflash it. Thats fine, I llearned quite a lot of these tries :) (plus I finally got the additional space :) )
