[ROM][Temp] CyanogenMod 7 Makeshift Nightly for Gen2

Hey,

I've made this thread to share a build of CyanogenMod 7 which is designed for Gen2.

The reason for this is that future nightlies are likely to be very broken. Something happened and now they don't work on any devices.

So anyway, if you want to upgrade to Gen2 and use CyanogenMod 7 instead of SS, this is the zip to use. If you have one of those saunalahti things, this won't work for you unless you use the correct RIL libs (this will be fixed in future CM7 builds, but this one is makeshift and kinda unofficial).

Download (Mirror)

Enjoy.

Also, for the love of God, don't post bugs from this on the issue tracker. I'll kill you and your family if you do.

Usual disclaimer applies.

What you mean about saunalahti things? The finnish version of GEN2 phones?

Thanks for sharing this build with us! :)

EDIT: Figure it out...

As a hint, the saunalahti_rils.zip found in swedish spring's first post can be used to get saunalahti people off roaming. Or just replace the appropriate files with these.

Thanks for all your hard work Jacob!

Thanks Jacob!

I've seen lots of different Gen2 memory maps floating around - will there be an "officially approved" CM7 partition layout?

Downloaded and installed, restoring data and will report back.

Officially, we recommend stock.

Unofficially, I recommend and use the 136MB system.

CM won't fit on a 128MB system, so don't use one of those.

I'm using the stock partition and the CM7 G2 has restored everything fine.

Top Work guys!

It would be great if you made a guide for update our phones to gen2,changing the partition layout and installing new cm7 builds.

How about the thing with the cache. Where it is used and how much it is needed? That will be ok "gen2_136mb_system_no_oem_15mb_cache.zip"? Thanks for the link

Running on 136 and so far so good!!

Good work everyone.

Use this. Nightly40 is broken for all devices, as Jacob says.

Update: n40 fixed apparently.

Works perfectly, installed using CW 3.0.1.4, and using GAPPS.gb.20110307. Loving it. Thanks Jacob.

Perfectly as in as well or "otherwise" as the Gen 1 version.

Still a country mile away from usable, at this point.

I haven't had any crashes, or force closure of apps. Compared to N39 on the same phone when it was Gen1, or N39 with the Gen2 kernel, on the Gen2 version, it's perfect!
