READ CAREFULLY!

This is a TPT Image to install a fresh and clean CyanogenMod 7.0.0 stable & ClockWorkMod Recovery on your ZTE Blade (Base Lutetia) in the easiest way.

CM7 stable:

http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/20137-c...-10-april-2011/

It will also repartitioning your device for optimal space usage.

Partitioning: 2 Mb Cache (not needed by CM7), 140 MB system (10MB free, gapps included) , 314 MB Data

i did this so some friends of mine can move to CM7 in an absolut easy way. so you can try it but on your own risk.

this is for people that run stock 2.1 or a custom 2.2 rom on the Blade and like to go to CM7 inone step without to hassle about ,rooting, fastboot, clockworkmod, repartitioning and flasing. all done in one step.

also people that have a bricked phone (GEN1) can try this to unbrick.

I used wbaw´s scripts so all credits go to him.

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ol-alpha3-gen1/

APPLYING THIS IMAGE WILL DELETE ALL YOUR DATA except what is saved as file on SD-Card.

1) check if you phone is GEN1. all Phones shipped with 2.1 should. but to sure check use this app:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a...e=search_result

NEVER EVER APPLY THIS TPT TO A GEN2 PHONE. YOU WILL BRICK IT.

2) do a backup (if needed)

i use my phone explorer (backup option) for backup contacts, calls sms

http://www.fjsoft.at/de/

for backing up your contacts to SD-Card you can use also this:

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.j...e=search_result

for apps i use Titanium Backup which requires Root.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.k...e=search_result

there are other solutions to backup android. google is your friend.

Remember that some apps save their data in unusuall places, e.g. Angry Birds so check for Angry Birds saver.

you can do a Nandroid backup, too but remember that this TPT changes partition size so before you apply it back you have to change partition size back to stock:

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ol-alpha3-gen1/

3) download and extract the zip file to your SD-Card of the ZTE Blade so you can see a folder "image" on the SD-Card

DOWNLOAD:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P8T1ZIRN

**** DONT APPLY THIS TO GEN2 PHONES , THIS IS FOR GEN1 ONLY****

FOR PEOPLE THAT DID NOT READ "FOR GEN1 PHONES ONLY" AND HAVE ALREADY UPDATED TO GEN2 WITH TPT METHOD AND BRICKED THEIR PHONE USING MY TPT IMAGE PLEASE USE THAT IMAGE WBAW DID FOR YOU. IT WILL UNBRICK YOUR PHONE AND DOWNGRADE IT TO GEN1:

http://www.mediafire.com/?9np934fy5pyql8h

you can use this on a GEN2 to downgrade to GEN1,too.

4) shut down your phone

5) switch phone on with voulme up key pressed. The Magic starts. you see some green writings. dont switch your phone of. after 1-2 minutes your phone will reboot into CM7!

6) restore your data. rember not to restore system data with Titanium Backup (other tools affected aswell) when you move from Android 2.2 to Android 2.3.3 like CM7. strange things can happen. just restore apps+data and contacts, sms, calllists.

7) you are done. to make CM7 more special and see the full power of CM7 i recommend the Regina 3D launcher.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.n...e=search_result

8) its a good idea to delete or rename the "image" folder on the SD-Card so you dont accidently apply this to your phone.

If you wanna move away from CM7 to a stock or other rom keep in mind that the partitions size changed. so first resize them to stock:

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...ol-alpha3-gen1/

than flash your preffered rom.

THIS WILL NOT UPDATE YOUR GEN1 PHONE to GEN2! it stays GEN1. you cannot apply nightly builds of CM7 greater than 39 because they are build for GEN2 phones but seems very broken ATM.

The main cyanogenmod 7 thread now warns that it is for gen2 phones only - does this mean that gen1 users flashing via this method will be stuck for updates unless they convert to gen2?

if you have a gen1 phone this is the only version (execpt older nightlies) that run on it.

ATM i will not go to GEN2 because the process is IMO to complicated. so for me before there is no easy way to upgrade to GEN2 and apply CM7 i will stay with the CM7.0.0 stable on GEN1. also there is no way back to GEN1 ATM.

If you like to apply nighlies >40 you have to upgrade to GEN2.

Hi

Going to try this tonight, 2 questions though:

#1 As this is not changing my phone to gen 2, can I install other ROMS as easily as before, or do I need to look for something specific due to the changes?

#2 If by chance there is an update to the GEN1 nightly can I go ahead & install or do I have to wait for a new TPT or undo this process?

To be honest a lot seem to be staying away from TPT & GEN2 but I'm willing to give it a shot as I like the sound of a "stable" & you make it sound so easy :)

thanks.

but to go to gen2 and back to gen1 lots of risks of bricking or losing emai. so nothing for the unexperianced user

It will also repartitioning your device for optimal space usage.

What is the "optimal" space usage for the system partition? 128 MB (JapJelly)? 136 MB? More MB? What value does the TPT format to?

What happens to the recovery partition? Is it the stock recovery or does it have clockworkmod installed?

What's about the gapps? Do we have to flash them with clockwork afterwards?

All this information should go into the first post...

But it would be fine if we had a CM7 TPT install working. Just like the JapJelly :)

Partition size is:

2 cache

140 system (10 free)

314 apps

latest Gapps included

And it worked already for your friends?

I am still on a JapJelly partition and would love to expand that by a few Megabytes. A TPT seems to be the safest way to do that.

you can apply any rom or nightly that is for GEN1.

if its not CM7 keep in mind to resize the partitions back to stock. same applies when you have used the JJ9 TPT because this also resize partitions.

Can you add all the missing .mbn files to this please, then it'll work to revert phones that have been upgraded to gen2 using my new tpt method. Otherwise it'll fail to install properly on Gen2 TPT upgraded phones, because they'll keep their gen2 amss.mbn

Download the hungarian stock rom from here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-to-512mb-gen1/ & copy all the .mbn files but keep your appsboot.mbn & partition_zte.mbn and all the .img files

Also, some phones do need menu & vol+ & power on to enter TPT flash mode, others just need vol+, but they still work with menu held too.

[edit] Don't worry, I made a new improved version of this which will also function as a Gen1 downgrade for Gen2 phones that were upgraded using my tpt method.

OK here it is - A slightly improved Gen1 CM7 Stable TPT install, which will work on phones upgraded to Gen2 using my Gen2 TPT upgrade (but not official Gen2, or those upgraded using windows software), as well as standard Gen1 phones.

CM7-stable-Gen1.zip d5ffb46108702152f700d79e7ad24794

I'm just testing a N42 TPT which will also upgrade from Gen1 to Gen2 ... all in one :)

Ok, i'm confused wbaw. what is different in your tpt as compared to curl66's and is yours only for gen2?

edit: ok reread your post. so your tpt is for those that want to revert back to gen1 with cm7 stable from your gen2 tpt?

Mine just includes some extra files so that it'll also work on phones that were upgraded to Gen2 with my Gen2 upgrade TPT. It'll work just as well on Gen1 phones.

curl66's version would cause a problem if it was flashed to a phone which had been upgraded to Gen2 using my upgrade TPT. That problem was my fault, it was because he used my script to create it so it didn't include all of the Gen1 firmware files (just the ones needed to repartition a Gen1 phone), so I fixed that problem with my version. Everything else is the same.

I already did, see the second link in my post here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...n2-tpt-upgrade/

It's only on N42 & CWM 3.0.1.4 though, I don't have time to keep it up to date, so feel free to update the system.img boot.img & recovery.img to more recent versions. You can make the system.img using clockworkmod to do a backup.

I can confirm that curl66's TPT works as expected. A good way for people with the JapJelly partition to revert to a bigger system partition or for people that are still on their 2.1 Eclair stock ROMS.

Maybe curl66 could replace the libsound.so from the image with that of N40+ to have the "perfect" GEN1 ROM (with SIP routing and audio muting fixed; I think that someone already confirmed that this works).

A fair warning: If anyone is about to try this TPT and afterwards one of the most recent nightlies with the CM7 universal converter, WILL FAIL horribly. The whole endeavor will end in a boot loop of the green android. You have to replace clockwork 3.0.2.4 with 3.0.1.4, then the converter can do his job properly. You can do so within clockwork with the corresponding clockwork-update.zip.

I replaced clockwork with 3.0.1.4 in my version.
