I find the existing CM builds to be more stable than the most recent, so no burning need to switch to Gen2. I have 2 blades, one is Gen1 and the other Gen2. I have both for testing purposes. Unless you have a reason to use the latest builds of CM7, I would stick with Gen1 until CM7 improves to the state where it is worth upgrading. As an aside, I have the CM7 dialler, it is much worse than the stock ZTE one. It doesn't matter on my Gen2 CM7 device as I use it only for development, but for day to day use, it would drive me nuts. Eventually most development will be aimed at gen2 blades.. you may as well update. Both SS and CM7 support gen 2 so I cannot see a reason for you to need to switch back! CM7 is very very close to finishing it's development! With the blade the only major bug left is the accelerometer and the fix for that has been started now.
Guest alltheway3 Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 How do I actually upgrade? Is it just a new clockwork?
Guest TheDOC1 Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 I would wait until the major CM7-gen2 Bugs are sorted out (mainly the GPS bug for me) as CM7-gen1 runs very smooth. So if you need GPS, stay with gen1.
Guest N3M35I5 Posted April 17, 2011 Report Posted April 17, 2011 i do use gps and tbh my gen1 cm7 is running flawlessly and very fast. i was just hoping for better reception in my dead spot area, i can only get a signal upstairs. iv been looking around on forums and its not very easy to downgrade to gen1 so i may aswell just stick with gen1 untill everything is ironed out and move over. thanks for all your replys

Guest HMZX Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 so you're not happy with gen2? no, im still on gen 1 i dont see the point of upgrading to gen 2 im on cyangenmod nightly 39 and it works fine, so why should i update? if we can figure out a way to get back to gen 1 from gen 2, then maybe i might upgrade, just for cyangenmod
