my streak will not power on

My streak seems to work smoothly, however if the back cover got loose and it, obviously, turns off, it won't power on again. I will have to plug it in my computer or in the mains and I get a screen with a battery with a <!> sign in it and 0%. So I have to recharge the streak again from a 0% battery charge, no matter how much % charge the battery had before turning off due to the cover back issue. Then it will power on.
