Guest sabio_proeliat Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Hi, I know that battery problem has been discussed before but haven't found any solution to mine. I've been using Swedish Spring 4B for a while and last week the phone froze and I had to reset. After that the battery has not lasted longer than 3h after fully charged. I've tried factory reset, wiped and installed Orange stock rom. Still 3 - 4 h of battery, I've also bought a new battery but that did not help eiter. Any ideas of what to try next? Thanks!
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 1) Have you tried the battery calibration tip (somewhere on this forum) 2) Are you using live wallpapers? these eat battery 3) what are your cpu settings 4) Do you use a task killer - what apps might be draining your battery (in the market things which say prevent phone from sleeping, can be problematic)
Guest k0zmic Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) When you got the new battery did you allow it to charge for a good few hours? Just a thought, maybe there's an internal hardware fault that caused the phone to freeze and now it's causing the poor battery life? Edited April 18, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 @Mushroom_lord big thanks! Will try the tips straight away, prob return if doesn't work. @k0zmic, yeah that was my concern as well about the hardware thing but I'll give it a go with what mushroom_lord told me and hope for the best! Thanks.
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 I am willing to give advice to those who appreciate it :) oh, and also, I have the power control widget on my homescreen(its on every ROM) I only turn on things like Bluetooth, wifi and Gthemen I need them, and Turk them off after. Wifi and GPS in particular, eat battery
Guest k0zmic Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 @Sabio Good luck, hopefully it's just a calibration issue. Also, check the usage of things in spare parts if the problem persists.
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Hi again, the battery trick didn't work. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware failure because now the battery will not charge more than to 36%. Any other suggestions or is it to contact Orange? Thanks!

Hmmm interesting - you couldn't get the battery calibration tip to work? maybe you should just try wiping stats and charging - see what happens etc. Otherwise I suppose it could be possible for one of us to send you our battery stats file and you could push it to your device (don't think that would help though) I suppose you should just set it back to stock - and contact orange.

This battery problem is beyond that experienced in CM7. But come on - my blade could probably last 2 days on CM7 - and I use it quite a bit. And what do you expect - we are using a BUDGET SMARTPHONE. There have to be compromises somewhere. And CM7 Compensates the fact that is is fast, and is based on android 2.3.3 for battery life - which i still don't think is that bad.
