gen1 or gen 2 on new white sf ?

hi guys i have jsut bought a sf for my son today and i have not been on the site for a few months , i have noticed that there is a lot of talk about gen 1 and gen 2 my old phone which is using jellyfish 8 is it gen 1 ? and my sons new phone is it gen 2 ? as i wish to remove the orange software and add a new rom and 1or 2 seems important ?

Hiya,

if your son's phone was bought in the UK it's more than likely a gen 1. If you have a look in the FAQ / Common Questions post that's stickied, there's a link to an app you can download which will tell you which gen your phone is

On the Market, search up 'Pigfish' and get 'Ask Mr Pigfish'. Then open it. It'll tell you immediatly whether you have GEN 1 or GEN 2.
