Guest punch_t Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Powering up the francisco while holding the volume up button in, the android logo always defaults to the Orange logo. So I can go no further. My Build Number is OUK_P729PB1.0.0B10; Kernel Version 2.6.29; Baseband Version P729BB01; Firmware Version 2.1-update1. Is there a fault with the device or is this option no longer supported? It is a GEN 1 version.
Guest blade2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Please try with removing the battery for a minute or two before starting.
Guest sambartle Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Thats what happens with B10's.. FastBoot is disabled. TPT'ing the hungarian ROM would restore fastboot.. or just you know .. follow the many many instructions for flashing B10's? Assuming you do just want to root which is what the title says.. download universal androot.. run it.. hit rootme.. and when it says you are root (it lies) just say do it anyway.. and you will have root.

Thanks that worked. :)
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 beware m8 that universal androot doesn't give permanent root. everytime you reboot you will have to root again.... whereas other methods for gaining root (fastboot, custom roms, kk's root app etc) will give you permanent root.

Ah thanks for that little tip, I tried Flashing a new rom onto it today and I had to re-root the phone. Thanks for that.
Guest hugobosslives Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 no problem. I guess what I meant to way was: get off the crapy orange rom and flash a awesome new rom (which will have the benefit of having permanent root)
