Hi,

My wife has an unlocked san francisco its running android 2.2 (flb r11). It's been running fine on Virgin for last 4 months.

heres the problem about 4 days ago she tells me she's lost the phone. We tore the house apart looking for it, in the end we thought she had dropped it outside somewhere. So i ring up orange giving them the original orange sim phone no and ime and ask the to block it. which they did. Then about an hour later the phone turns up, so back on the phone to orange can you unblock it again, no probs it was unblocked immediately and back working on virgin... till this morning

it will now only work on orange. when i put the virgin sim card in, no calls or messages incoming or outgoing yet it shows as being on virgin and having a signal.

Not sure how to get round it tried several sim cards and the only ones now working are orange. Any help appreciated.

cheers

roy

Can't do that as it recognizes the virgin sim, so i'm assuming its still unlocked.

Try another sim. Maybe the Virgin sim is still blocked

Do sims from any other network other than Orange or Virgin work in the phone?

It might be worth trying a different rom. Make a nandroid backup first so you can restore it if that doesnt solve your problem

Yeah m8,

tried a giff gaff nothing doing, it does actually recognize the virgin sim, but no calls or texts in or out. seems to me something Orange have buggered up.

Was thinking putting on a stock rom with tpt, hopefully it will need unlocking again (but thats a last resort)

cheers

update.

put on a stock rom . got the promt for unlock code, entered it. and still got exactly same prob, is there anyway orange could block the phone from other networks as it was fine till i had blacklisted and then unblacklisted.

Hello. :)

I think that what happens when you report a mobile lost/stolen with a network, is that they send that info to all other networks in the UK, and have them bar your IMEI also. I'm not 100% sure on this, but it seems to make sense, and is how I remember the way it works, to be. In the past (5-6+ years ago, maybe more) the handset was ONLY barred on the network on which it was supplied.

I'd call Orange, and ask them to investigate whether the un-barring has propagated through ALL UK networks, not just their own. I hope this helps.

I Googled for you and found this - maybe it helps?:
