Best ROM for Wifi Tethering

I am travelling a lot these days and use WIFI tethering to connect to my Windows 7 Laptop.

I have used FLB Froyo for many months until recently, Wifi Thethering worked very well.

I then upgraded to Swedish Spring and recently tried Cyanogenmod 2.3 (Stable and Nightly-40) both giving me trouble is connecting.

My laptop's network connection would simply refuse to connect.

USB tethering works a treat for all these ROMs, so nothing wrong with my phone provider etc.

Any ideas which is the best ROM I should try for trouble free WIFI tethering?

try CM7 with the wifi tethering addon on the first post of the CM7 stable thread - then use the wifi tether app rather than the built in tethering. it keeps the screen on, so the wifi doesnt drop out every few minutes and is very fast.

Any rooted ROM + Barnalce Wifi Tether app from the market. Works like a charm on my CM7 RC4
