How do I upgrade FLB-froyo r10 to r11/r12 WITHOUT losing data or nandroiding?

Hi guys and girls!

I have a white LCD Orange UK SanFran, and I am running "FLB-Froyo r10". I wish to do an upgrade to either r11 or r12 (which is newer/better?) but i do NOT want to lose _anything_, or have to make a Nandroid backup (I have one from yesterday, but that's not the point).

This forum is MEGA confusing - SO many handsets, variations, roms & methods. Please, in simple terms, describe the process by which I go from r10 -->>-- r11/r12 without any futzing about. I have ClockWorkMod 3.0.2.4 installed. I cannot lose any data OR apps, as I use them daily for programming etc.

Thank you :)

PS: Please would you tell me the author of the "FLB" ROMs, what "FLB" even means, and list them in order of release?

:)

its very simple - just install zip via clockworkmod WITHOUT wiping anything. you will have new system you but keep all files you had. the only problem is that r11b is the last version of FLB ROM. Since we have Swedish Spring ROM now, Flibblesan (FLB ROM author) stopped developing his ROM.

if you want to know more about him and other FLB ROMs i recommend you his official thread:

That's great. Questions: what is Swedish Spring? Is it better, and can I upgrade direct from r10 >> SwedSpring?

1/ Do I need to re-calibrate my battery (again) once I have upgraded - does this replace my /data/system/batterystats.bin file?

2/ Do I need to wipe dalvik cache and data partitions before upgrading?

3/ You say install ZIP - do you mean renaming r11b to "update.zip" and dumping it in the root of /sdcard, or just putting it anywhere and choosing it in CWM?

thank you :)

PS: Are you SURE I won't lose my apps? I installed CM7 stable yesterday, and ALL my installed apps vanished! Please would you verify this as a matter of certainty, not guess work? Thank you :)

Swedish Spring is a custom ROM based on the CSE_P729VV1.0.0B01 (Official Comviq/Tele2 Sweden 2.2 ROM). You can not do an upgrade because its not the same rom. For more info:

1. Im not sure about battery calibration but when u install new rom make sure ur battery is full and wipe battery stats in clockworkmod.

2. if u install swedish spring over flb r10 u must wipe

3. its tha same thing, u can rename it and apply update.zip or choose it in clockworkmod.

If u do an upgrade from flb r10 to flb r11b WITHOUT WIPING ANYTHING u will 100% not lose ur apps and data.
