      The above, alternate, downloads are using a different kernel source (Same source as used with Swedish Spring) and it seems the GPS reboots (Gen2 issue only I believe) happens less often with this kernel.

      VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

      [*]Does NOT WORK WITH CLOCKWORK 3.0.2.4 due to it's small sized /tmp. Confirmed working with 3.0.1.4.

      [*]Although the kernel is forked from the source used for the official CM7 kernel it is NOT identical. Do NOT report issues unless they can be reproduced with the official kernel.

      [*]Only tested on Gen2 phone with N41 at the moment but should work on pretty much any phone (Blade) and CM7 version.EDIT: Gen1 has now been confirmed working with N41

      [*]Keep in mind that recent CM7 versions + gapps does NOT fit in a 128Mb system partition anymore. If you, like me, do not have time or are to lazy to repartition, removing RomManager.apk and bootanimation.zip is enough (at least on N41) to make it fit.

That assumes that it really does work for Gen1 phones. Having converted I cannot test it myself but it _should_ work...

Just out of interest, would you mind listing the main differences between your and Tom's kernels? Also, is there a reason why those changes haven't been pushed upstream?

The only difference should be that my version has the touchscreen fix that helps those who have issues with unresponsive touchscreens on custom kernels. That change has been sent as a pull request to Tom and Jacob but they propably haven't hade time to implement it yet.

That's the idea. But someone has to confirm that it works on Gen1 as I cannot test that myself.

Yeah, install CM7>install converter > reboot. no need to upgrade to GEN2

This sounds pretty awesome.

Can someone please just confirm the process itself:

1) Download/flash N41 (which is Gen2) on a Gen1 phone using Clockwork 3.0.14

2) Boot into Recovery (assuming Recovery still works with N41 before the conversion)

3) Flash the Converter

I just wanted to double check because I know N41 doesn't work on a Gen1 so I wasn't sure what state the phone will be in after installing N41 - ie, whether we still have access to Clockwork/Recovery

3. Copy to sd card

4. Start phone in clock work recovery.

5. Apply CM 41 zip

6. Apply cm7_universal_converter_ahb.zip

7. Reboot phone.

Is it the kernel that is making the primary release of N41 incompatible with GEN1 phones?

What are the differences between this kernel and the one released with the official CM7 ROM's?

I remember the GPS reboot issue of the CM7 ROM being fixed with the kernel edit, will the same fix still hold with this one?

sorry to make this uber clear to me :flash CM7 stable in Clockwork, boot up then go to ROM Manager , install the converter from there and reboot , but do i need to wipe data and cache ? im really confused and dont want to be in a boot loop

Do not use rom manager, just go into clockwork, wipe data / cache and install them both there, CM7 first then converter straight after, then boot up.

This is pretty clear :)
