Guest JimJam707 Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Hey guys, someone on Samdroid (Samsung Android forums) is planning on buying a Second Hand ZTE Blade. The only problem is the camera is taking rather dodgy photos. Is this a ROM problem or a hardware problem on the device? Edited April 20, 2011 by JimJam707

Guest Azurren Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) I'm sure someone has posted about the same problem before :) Can't remember what he did though.. :) Edited April 20, 2011 by Azurren
Guest JimJam707 Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 I've asked the user what ROM it is and I'm waiting for an answer :/
Guest bajaking Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 I have this problem too with my blade. I used JJ RLS9, CM7 and SS RLS5, all the same "red spot" in the middle of the picture. I think it's an hardware failure.
Guest JimJam707 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Update: These pictures were taken on the 'default froyo rom' but have also appeared on FLB Froyo r11. Hardware issue?

Ask him to take the back cover off before taking a photo and see if it improves Maybe something wrong with the lens plastic.. It is very poor quality after all

Im the guy JimJam has been asking questions for , well i asked the guy who is offering me the Blade to try out what you asked me ! I'll get back to you asap with the reply . Just look for another
Guest Clitheroe1 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 The ZTE Blade may not have the great spec of all the smartphone cameras available but I've never had any problems with mine and not experienced the red spot shown in the examples. If you have the problem take it back and get another one, it's not typical of the camera on the phone.

Just look for another Well he tried the lens cover thing - same result ! And its the same problem in the viewfinder ! so... i shouldn't buy it right ? Well i'll look for another like you mentioned . But im not put off buy this ! I've seem the power of the blade on a bunch of videos ! CM7 looks spectacular on it ! Anyway just a quick offtopic question - why is the blade given more attention than Spica ? Why no official CM 6 or 7 for spica ? Isnt it better than Balde ?

Well, I suppose more people have a Blade, so devs are more enthusiastic to make ROMS for the Blade, as it will benifit more users.

More RAM and better drivers make all of the difference. I think we have a GPU too...

Its not massively locked down with samsungs own GPU and CPU (Drivers are a major problem on the Spica forums) either Plus the Spicas old now and more expensive whereas the blade is cheap and still current
