Guest NightOrchid Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Hi All Im Just new to Advent Vega and new to the forum, so hello everyone :). My Vega is fresh out of a new box and Ive checked the advent website and looked at the firmware downloads, however, when I looked in the Vega About Device Software, it says: EC Version: 1.9.0 Kernel: 2.6.32.9_P10_V1.10_20110218_Dix Build: harmony 2.2 FRF912011021110534 Flash and YouTube works fine, but I cant find the screen calibration which is listed in the new firware updates, unless its somewhere else in settings. I have downloaded the latest firmware and USB drivers, but havent installed anything because it looks like I have a new version, Am I Right or should I update?. Im also wanting to install the Android Marketplace and the MoDaCo updates to improve performance and mod my Vega. I have read around quite abit about the mods on here, but any advice would be great. Also, once Ive modded and upgraded this, should I download Virus software? Many Thanks and Hello again ) Night Edited April 20, 2011 by NightOrchid
Guest Minimonkey Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 A custom Rom will replace the version you have and will add improvements. Don't worry about virus software http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...guides-how-tos/
