Linky #1 for downloading the Acer drivers.

Linky #2 If you already know about custom ROMs, just scroll down to the Acer A1 DL Tool.

Linky #3 As of now, the newest 2.2 ROM for the A1 and the E is the one at the bottom of the list (4.008.08), but some have claimed the slightly older 4.003.14 offers better battery life. I highly recommend you get a FroYo bin, even if you're using an A1 (though if you are using an A1, I recommend flashing a ROM later on with compcache and/or swap file support).

Once you've installed the drivers, readied the A1 DL Tool, and downloaded the bin you want, follow the instructions in the post with the link to the Acer A1 DL Tool (Linky #2).

Once that's done, follow the instructions at Linky #4 to install malez recovery.

And only once that's over with should you start thinking about what ROM you want to install. If you want to keep it safe and FroYo, then LCR, T&L, and fear_factory's modified version of the stock ROM are the most popular choices, though if you want to get the best performance out of them, you'll need to hunt down some extra modifications (ie. chocolate kernel) as well. CDTeam's FroYoMetal is also available if you want something as close to the Liquid Metal as possible software-wise. There's also a port of CM6.1 available, which was initially developed by xian, then roggin, and now Dario (though roggin and sometimes even xian help out in IRC IIRC). Oh, and there's MIUI as well, but I don't have enough experience with it to give a proper opinion.

Unless you're adventurous or want a 2.3/CM7 feature really badly, I'd suggest sticking with a FroYo ROM for now, especially since most of them are now pretty much bug-free. However, if you're up to it, there are plenty of Kang ports and modifications to CM7, as well as a few ports of MIUI's Gingerbread version for the Acer Liquid... heck, if you're really adventurous, you can even try building a kang CM7 yourself from source code...

use acer A1 tool..and flash 4.002.14 emea bin ..i prefer this..or .08 but .14 is more stable after flashing install .61 malez recovery with usb debugging "on" .now go to the settings privacy ..reset ur phone to defaut..this will bring u to malez recovery ..if malez recovery is installed properly if u followed the procedure..once in malez go to wipe...go according to the tree menu..wipe data .wipe dalvik, wipe ext 2 ,wipe rotate, wipe battery stats, wipe cache..follow this twice .now come outta wipe ..go to mount/enable sd in main menu of malez..this will open ur sd folder in ur comp ..make sure usb s connectd..now .now transfer the zip file of the rom u wish to flash .that is 2.3 ..i would suggest try this rom http://android.modaco.com/content-page/331...7rc1/page/1240/ ..post No #1160 ..very stable and gud battery drain..and flash it without sign check..and reboot ..thats it :) ..hope it helps
