Guest goatee Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 I've had a Blade (Orange San Fran) on CM7 for the last 6 months, and prior to that was on a Hero (and prior to that a T-Mobile Pulse). Yesterday I got the 2X as a free upgrade, and it's amazing! Even with the stock LG bloatware on the phone, it still flies along. Other than that fact that you can't customise the dock, I even like the LG launcher (though will probably go back to Launcher Pro :)). It's a superb handset, and I'm just baking an MCR for it now :). It will be interesting to see how CM7 when it comes over, compares to Froyo MCR - I will miss Gingerbread a little, but the LG keyboard has weaned me off the Gingerbread one (which in turn, weaned me off Swype), and overall it's a great package. One question - there's a "1" in the notfication bar - anyone know what it's for?

In the little booklet that came with it it has a list of notification bar icons, Does it look like any of them ?

You can do search about dual line SIM in Google.
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Lol, out of desperation, I looked in the booklet, but it wasn't there! :) This number usually only appears if you have a contract with 2 different "lines", and then a "1" means that you are currently using line 1, while a "2" would most likely mean that you are currently using line 2. :) Here in Germany we don't have any providers that use these 2-line thing, so I haven't seen or used it myself, but I know that this concept is used in some other countries. If you have such a contract, you can go to Settings -> Call Settings -> Additional (or "Advanced"? Don't know how it's called on english settings) Settings, and there you'll see an entry "Select Line" or something, which is greyed out if your contract doesn't support it (like for me). So I don't know what exactly you can adjust there, but if it is selectable, it would mean that your contract supports these 2 lines, and so it would be perfectly normal that you see that number in the tray.

I'm with Virgin Mobile UK who are a virtual reseller for T-Mobile - I wonder if that has something to do with it but I suspect it's related to call waiting as that also appears on that menu.
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 You don't need a 2nd line for call waiting. I can use call waiting without having a 2nd line, which is, as said, not offered by any provider here in Germany. I googled around a bit but couldn't find anything related to this. I'm afraid someone who actually has such a contract AND who knows what exactly this is for would need to answer this.

This means you can have 2 numbers, or 1 number + FAX or any other comnination (depends on your provider) on one SIM and that SIM will have 2 lines. Its additional service and not every operator can offer it. In your case, the reason 1 is displayed is maybe because your operator supports that and your SIM is actually capable for that but not enabled and this is why line 1 is displayed. Do some more search over Google and im sure you will find more information about it. Just type "dual line sim " or "multi line sim "
