Free "Reboot into Recovery" application

Hey guys,

I've coded a tiny app to reboot your Optimus 2x or G2x into recovery mode without holding any buttons. Best thing is... it's free ;-) It doesn't install Clockworkmod, so if you want an app for that, check out Paul's paid app for that (Which does it on the O2x only) :-)

I'd be really happy if you'd tap the ad displayed in the application, but you don't need to.

Yes, the app is ugly, fugly, disturbing, etc. but hey, it works :-D

It's to be found in the Android Market here: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.m...sma.lgo2xreboot, on AndroidPIT.com http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/marke...recovery-reboot and in the attachment of course!

Update: Implented a check if the app is runnning on an LG Optimus 2x or G2x.

Update #2: Made the app less fugly, thanks to fitsnugly.

Update #3: SU660 compatibility

I also attached the source code, if you're interested.

They don't work on the LG Optimus 2x, as it requires "boot-recovery" to be written after 6144 bytes on the MISC (mmcblk0p3) partition. Also, nobody stops you from supporting Paul. I, for one am already using MoDaCo Plus, so I'm supporting him as well.

lol - love the disclaimer in the code. It doesn't look that bad! :)

Will download and test to see if it has the same sd card problem Paul's app does...

Edit: Same problem as Paul's - it seems to only affect some phones - SD Card is not mounted after a soft reboot (full or recovery)... :)

I'll try and get a boot log tonight.

Haha, the "{" and "}" are all messed up, no idea which belong together anymore.. :)

That's strange, never experienced that.. Which baseband are you using? It looks like MISC gets restored on every boot on my device.

Shipping baseband, never updated.

IIRC logcat actually say "SD Card not present" but I'll need to verify that tonight.

Works find from a hard boot.

Try updating your baseband, maybe that will work.

I have to apologize here. I actually now prefer this program becuase it has BOTH reboot and Recover Reboot in one andy screen.

After a reboot (shut down and boot up again) it should work. I also upgraded to clockwork 3.1.0.1 yesterday an had the same issue. After a reboot it works fine now. I am loving the touch-button handling.

BTW: I am using the StockROM (v10c)
