No, better reception, HSUPA etc. means actually updating to Gen 2 thus updating the radio antenna software.

There arn't really any risks if you follow the instructions properly. CM7 for the ZTE Blade nativitely designed for Gen 2 but Converting CM7 to work with your Gen 1 phone, Means your not getting the latest kernel upgrade when new nightly come

Games = great Accelerometer is still messed up so games with accelerometer = unplayable Charging = Fine but occasional LED's on and screen doesn't wake bug No switch off yet!
Guest shappy87 Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Waiting for accelerometer to be fixed !

The precompiled kernel from k_k's universal converter does not have the GPS bug. But otherwise you are right. Since wba the Great :) released the TPT installation, the risk is at least predictable.
Guest TRKOSTAS Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 just intalled n42 on my GEN 1 with kks coverter without wipe. everything fine so far, SIP call fixed and voice is coming from earpiace. reboot on charging i will report tomorrow so far no REBOOTS at all!
Guest Ron=) Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Waiting for accelerometer to be fixed ! Me too! It's the only dealbreaker for me now!
